Ebabee is an auction site. So a seller lists an item, sets a start price for the item and decides a duration for the item (which can be 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 days). Interested buyers can then place bids and at the end of the listing, the highest bidder wins the item. In other words we work in the same way as auctions in the real world only here you don't have to leave the comfort of your own sofa! We also offer a fixed price listing where there are no bids - you just set a fixed price for your item.
What can I buy and sell on ebabee?
You can buy and sell new and used baby clothes, pushchairs, prams, toys, gifts, feeding and changing products, nursery furniture, nursery decor and bedding, maternity clothes, pregnancy products and much, much more. In fact you can buy and sell almost anything baby, toddler, pregnancy and maternity related. All we request is that whatever you sell should be in useable condition. If you wouldn't use it don't sell it! We don't believe in selling junk, so if you've got some junk head to the nearest bin!
We all know babies are super expensive, they need so much stuff! On ebabee you'll find fab bargains on branded items being sold by mums just like you. There are many new items that are just surplus to needs or unwanted gifts at bargain prices. And theres loads of used stuff too - babies grow so quickly that a lot of the used stuff is barely used but still being sold for a fraction of the new price. And last but not least, our fees are low so sellers can give you better bargains as they keep most of what they earn. So have a look, browse around, have some fun and get yourself some great bargains.
Ebabee is a great place to turn unwanted baby and maternity stuff in to cash. Babies outgrow stuff so quickly, so rather then piling it up at home and wasting useful storage space, sell it and earn some money. And not to mention all those unwanted gifts - we all get them so sell them. Last but not least, listing is free and so are most of the features like photos, re-list and more. The only feature we have a fee for is if you set a reserve price. So most of the time you only pay a fee for what you sell. We've kept our fees low so you can keep most of what you earn.
Registering is quick, easy and free. Just click on the register button you see at the top of every page. Fill in your details and and click register. Once you're registered you can start buying and selling immediately.
To buy an item you need to be registered and logged in to your account. Once you know what you would like to buy you should carefully read the item description and postage terms and any other terms set by the seller. If you're happy with everything then you can place a bid. Once you place a bid, you are commited to buying the item if you are the highest bidder. When bidding you can either place your maximum bid or just place the next bid amount. When the listing is finished, if you were the highest bidder, you will win the item.
How do I find what I'm looking for?
If you want to see whats on offer at ebabee, you can browse the categories listed on the homepage. Just click on the category you're interested in and see whats on sale. If you're looking for something very specific you can use the search box at the top of the homepage. Just type in the keywords that best describe what you're looking for.
To sell an item you need to be registered and logged in to your account. In your profile you can click on 'sell an item' or click the 'sell' button you see on the top of every page. You then need to fill in the details for your listing - be as accurate and honest as you can be as buyers will start to trust you and repeatedly buy from you. Always remember to take clear pictures of your item as buyers like to see what they're buying. Listing an item is free - we only charge a small fee if you set a reserve price. And if your item sells, we charge a small percentage of the final sale price - we keep our fees low so you can get most of what your item sells for. Please see our fees page for all the details.
What auction starting price should I set?
This is entirely up to you but we have seen that items with lower starting prices tend to attract more bids. This is because buyers get excited and tempted at the prospect of getting a bargain so are more likely to bid. £0.99 is a common starting price even for high value items and generally you will end up getting a fair price for your item. But you of course need to be sure that you are willing to part with the item even if it doesn't get the price you had hoped for. If you really don't want to part for less than a certain amount then you should consider setting a reserve price.
Ebabee allows you to list your item in one of 2 formats. You can list on the auction format or if you would like to set a fixed price, you can choose this option. The fixed price option is very useful if you know exactly how much you want for your item. And you only pay a fee if your item sells.
A reserve price is a price that a seller can set, under which the item will not sell. Buyers don't know how much the reserve is but they will know that you have set one. A little tip to remember - reserves in lower price items can put buyers off. Reserves tend to work better for high value or high priced items. There is a small fee for setting a reserve price. Please see our fees page for details.
Can I make changes to my listing after it's started?
Yes you can. Don't worry if you think of something important after it starts. You can just log in to your account, go to your profile page and click on 'active auctions'. Then click on the auction you want to make changes to. At the top of the listing you'll see a link which allows you to make changes, click on it and make your changes. If your item has received a bid then you can't make changes. A buyer has bid based on the information they've seen so it wouldn't be fair to then change it.
How much does it cost to sell on ebabee?
We've kept our fees low, after all we love to get the best for less! So listings are free including many free features like adding photos, setting a start time and more. In fact the only feature we charge a small fee for is setting a reserve price. So most of the time you only pay if your item sells. When your item sells we charge a percentage of the final sale price. Again this is low so that as sellers you keep most of your money. Please see our fees page for all the details.
How does ebabee collect fees due?
Any fees due from sellers like the final value fee, will be invoiced. We will send you an invoice at the end of each calendar month. All invoices should be paid within 4 business days of receipt. We make it as easy as we can for you to pay us.
Feedback is your reputation on ebabee. When you buy or sell anything on ebabee, your buyer or seller will leave you positive, neutral or negative feedback. Other buyers and sellers can look at this before they trade with you. Honesty, prompt communication and despatch, quick payment, accuracy, helpfulness - these are all important to get positive feedback. And of course, the more positive feedback you have the more people will want to do business with you.
How do I collect payment from my buyer?
When you create a listing on ebabee you can choose how you would like to be paid. We have various options you can choose from - paypal, google checkout, cheque and bank transfer. You should just tick the options you would like to offer your buyer. But you must also enter your payment details in your profile page under payment info. If you don't enter your details on your payment info page, then buyers will not be able to pay you.
How do I know my buyer will pay and my seller will send my item?
We believe most people are honest - just like you are. Most of our members are genuine and are serious about buying and selling. You can also check out a members reputation by looking at the feedback they've received. But remember if a member doesn't have any feedback yet that doesn't mean they're not honest. After all everybody has to start somewhere.
How do I resolve any disputes?
Always contact your buyer or seller. Talking and communicating really helps. Most disputes on buying and selling sites such as this can be resolved by speaking to each other. Sometimes there can be postage delays or a delay in payment just because someone forgot. By speaking to your buyer or seller you can get most problems solved. If you can't resolve the problem then do get in touch with us and we'll do what we can to help you.
Can I put any links on my listing?
No, links to any external sites, third party sites or any kind of links are not allowed on listings.
