Tip: Once you click on a specific category, you'll see the words 'All categories' on the top left of the page. Click on this to see all the items in all the categories at once.

3. Ways to buy

There are 2 main ways to buy baby, toddler and maternity products on ebabee:

Auction: This is where items are sold to the highest bidder at the end of a fixed number of days.

Fixed Price: This is where the seller has offered a fixed price so you can buy the item when you want, at a specified price.

Tip: Auction vs. Fixed Price Pro's and Con's

Auction:

  • It's lots of fun, the anticipation and the bidding are exciting
  • You can often get a fantastic bargain
  • You can be outbid
  • You'll need to wait till the end of the auction to get your baby item

Fixed Price:

  • There's no waiting, you can literally buy the item now
  • There's no competing with others, once you buy it, it's yours (hooray!)
  • You need to be quick to avoid someone beating you to it

4. Before you buy

Here are some things to check out before you buy:

  • Read the item description carefully
  • Check details like sizes, measurements and colours
  • Check out the postage costs and any other terms of the seller
  • Look at the pictures

Tip: If you need more information, just send the seller a message. You can do this by clicking on the sellers name in the listing.  You'll be taken to their profile page where there's a contact seller option.  Just click on 'send a message' and ask your questions.

5. Auction format buying

Once you've found your baby bargain, review the item details and when you've decided to bid simply do the following:

a. Login to your account if you're not already logged in

b. Place your maximum bid in the box and click 'bid now'

c. You'll be taken to a new screen where you can review your bid before clicking 'confirm'

Tip: It's best to enter your maximum bid so you don't need to keep coming back and increasing your bid.  And don't worry, the seller and other buyers can't see your maximum bid.  Bids will then be placed automatically on your behalf, up to your maximum.  But we'll only bid as much as necessary to ensure you're the highest bidder, up to your maximum.

6. Fixed Price format buying

Once you've found your new or second hand baby, toddler or maternity bargain and you've decided to go for it, simply do the following:

a. Login to your account if you're not already logged in

b. Click the big pink circle saying 'bid now'

c. You'll be taken to a new page where you can review before clicking confirm

Tip: Be nimble, be quick! Once a fixed price item is gone, it's gone. And we don't want you to miss out.

7. You've won the item. What next?

Firstly, congratulations!

You'll get an email confirming your win.  Now you need to pay for the item.  To make it all very easy, at ebabee we offer several payment methods. As a buyer however, you can only pay via the methods the seller accepts.

Once you've won an item, you'll be taken to a screen where we offer our congratulations to you and there's also a big, bold pink sign saying 'Pay now'.  Click on this. You'll go to a new page.

Paypal and/or Google Checkout payments

  • Click on your preferred payment method if both Paypal and Google Checkout are offered.  If not, just click the one that is offered.
  • You'll be taken to your Paypal or Google Checkout login page
  • Login to your account and follow the instructions to complete your payment

Bank Transfer and'or Cheque payments - Nearly all sellers accept Paypal and/or Google Checkout. However just in case you come across a seller who doesn't, you'll see a messgae saying 'Seller has not provided any payment details'. Don't panic, this is fine!  All you need to do is:

  • Click on the item to see the listing. Once in the listing click on the sellers name.
  • You'll come to the sellers profile page where from where you can send a messgae to the seller by clicking 'send a message'
  • Send a messgae asking the seller for their bank or cheque payment detials
  • In most cases the seller will contact you.

Tip: the quicker you pay the better it is for your feedback.
