Christmas gift ideas for baby girls

Earlier today I shared some adorable Christmas gift ideas for baby boys.  Now it’s the turn of the baby girls. I had such fun putting this list together because everything is so, so cute!  While I’ve called this a baby girl gift list, there are lots of things here that would work just as well for a baby boy too.

I’ve picked a selection of toys, clothes and useful things all with gorgeous design and lots of cuteness for babies aged 0-2 years.  So here are my favourite Christmas gift ideas for baby girls:

1.baby bear shaker toy | 2. dusky pink cotton twinset | 3. melamine bunny plate | 4. ricepuffy soft toy with knitted hat | 5. pingo the penguin soft toy | 6. cosy cocoon sleeping bag | 7. wooden heart wall music box | 8. reversible bunny bib | 9. knitted cloud sweater | 10. wooden baby rattle | 11. origami boat bath toys | 12. apple pillow | 13.pull along wooden train

Evolution a colouring book for kids

We love colouring in this house.  Anya of course loves it but she often asks me to colour with her and I find it quite therapeutic.  Recently, while on holiday during half-term, Anya even got Richard involved and the three of us spent a rainy afternoon colouring (who said we don’t know how to live!).  As with story books, I try and look out for fun, unusual and unique colouring books and this one called Evolution: A Colouring Book is exactly that.  It’s Anya’s current favourite (and mine!).

unique colouring books

Evolution is a colouring book as well as a book on evolution.  As a colouring book it’s interactive with flaps, die-cuts, stencils and mix and match pages and then you have the text on Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution. The facts are presented simply so it’s ideal for kids especially 6-8 year olds.  Anya has been asking a lot of questions on evolution lately and this book is a great introduction to the concept.  But the fact that it’s an interactive colouring book too makes it even more engaging for a child.  It’s unusual to find a colouring book that teaches and is interactive and that’s why I love Evolution as it is so much more than just a coloring book.  This book would make a great gift too especially with Christmas coming up.

"best books for 4-6 year old kids"

We are complete bookworms in this house.  I would go so far as saying almost more then adult books, I adore kids books and get excited every time we get a new one.  Christmas is the perfect excuse for me to go a bit over the top buying new books for Anya.  Last week I shared some great activity books for kids so today I wanted to share some story books.  Most of these books are suitable for around ages 4-7 years but of course can be read out loud to younger kids too.  Some of them are old classics like Puss in Boots and Aesops Fables but I’ve picked new and exciting editions which bring something different.  We already own some of these books and love them and the rest are on our wish list:

1. Once Upon an Alphabet | 2. Aesop’s Fables | 3. Ramayana: The Divine Loophole | 4. Sparky! | 5. My Teacher is a Monster! (No, I am not) | 6. The Book With No Pictures | 7. All the animals were angry | 8. The Day The Crayons Quit | 9. Animalium (Welcome to the Museum) | 10. Pippi Longstocking | 11. Puss in Boots

"Christmas gift ideas for boys clothes"

Yesterday I shared my favourite Christmas clothes for girls from our shop so today it’s the turn of the boys.  Do you gift your boys clothes?  I don’t know if boys get as excited about clothes as girls but if they do, I’ve picked out some fabulous pieces that they will enjoy wearing.  Our boys collection is a bit smaller than the girls one but each piece is hand-picked and slightly unusual.  And we have some very cool pieces that are big on comfort and style like the strapped trousers as well as the geometric dot trousers.  So here are my Christmas gift picks for the boys and don’t forget that there is 20% of everything in the shop till Monday 1st December.  Just use code THANKS02:

1. geometric dot trouser | 2. strapped trouser | 3. fracndell striped tee | 4. fish sweatshirt | 5. khaki jacket | 6. set of two tree socks | 7.  potato boy pyjamas | 8. set of two dot and navy socks | 9. blue stone leggings

Three little pigs

November 11, 2014

"three little pigs soft toy"

Something very cute for you today.  Soft toys have become quite an obsession in this house of late.  Anya cannot go to bed without at least five to accompany her.  There’s often hardly any space left on the bed for her!  And each week her bed companions change so that ‘nobody feels left out’!  I like the reasoning of a five year old mind.

"maileg pig in a tin can"

With her birthday and Christmas being very close to each other, it always means I have to plan for more than one set of gifts to give her (if you can help it, never have a December baby).  Right now I’m thinking birthday gift and I’m loving these pigs softies.  From one of my favourite kids toy and decor shops, their collection of pig soft toys is second to none.  From baby bacon in a box to that pig in a tin.  How cute!  And while I maybe thinking birthday gift, that red pig is such a great Christmas present too.  My favourite though is the three little baby bacon in a box. They look good enough to eat (sorry, couldn’t resist)!
