Bobo Choses: Always cool

February 28, 2012

"bobo choses spring summer 2012"

I love the Spanish kids clothing brand that is Bobo Choses.  I’ve shared their collections before and this latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection is another winner.  Their clothes are playful and fun and above all are very easy to wear.  This season the bicycle print makes a comeback but you’ve also got the ever so sweet new whale and pineapple prints.  One of my favourite pieces is the wave skirt that comes in sunny yellow, mint green and a few more colours.  I was wondering how best to describe this skirt and the word ‘happy’ kept popping in to my head.  So that’s what I’ll call it… a happy skirt that will make you smile when you see your bambino wearing it.  There’s lots of cool stuff for boys and babies too including funky tees, vests and sweatshirts and the cutest all in ones for the littlest ones.  Bobo Choses have also started a small home line including some lovey tapestry rugs for kids which I featured a short while ago as they’re distinctive, much like the rest of what they do.  To view the entire Spring Summer 2012 collection head to Bobo Choses where you can buy or you can get a lot of the collection over at Little Fashion Gallery

"french clothes for babies and girls"

I’m so excited to introduce French Blossom, my newest sponsor.  French Blossom are an online store bringing together some of the most fabulous independent French kiddy designers.  You’ll find clothes, nursery decor and accessories from lovely brands like Eponime, Mimi’Lou, Bakker Made with Love, Poisson Bulle and more.  Some of the brands I’ve already shared with you but there are many more to discover.  As you know I’m a huge fan of French design for kids and French Blossom are too… that’s why I’m delighted to have them on board.

While checking out French Blossom’s store, there was one brand that immediately caught my eye.  It’s one I haven’t yet shared with you but I think it perfectly shows the philosophy and uniqueness of French design which is what we all love around here.  Loulou Eskimo is the one and they create original clothes that are playful and whimsical.  In Loulou Eskimo’s world styles can be mixed, rules can be broken; it’s all about celebrating individuality which is exactly what children are about.  The colours dominating their spring/summer 2012 collection are beautiful corals and sandy beige’s complimented by splashes of brighter hues.  The clothes are for 2 – 8 year old girls and you’ll find a selection over at French Blossom where you’ll also find other delectable French goodies for kids.

"white tulle skirt for girls"

"gold ruffle shorts for girls"

Some time ago I discovered the German Lieschen Mueller and I fell for her quirky dress wearing, bear-like dolls.  They were so unusual that I had to share them with you.  I’ve now discovered an equally quirky kiddy clothes collection by Lieschen Mueller and that’s what I’m going crazy for today.  I love the gorgeous cat and rabbit dresses with matching hats and then there are the tulle skirts in black and white and the sparkly gold ruffle shorts too.  All the pieces are hand made and have bags of whimsy and lots of dramatic style.  It’s part outfit, part dressing up and lots of fun for any little girl.  To check out the collection, head to the fabulous Line + Liv where you’ll find these clothes plus lots more stylish goodies for the kids.

"yellow clothes for girls and babies"

Winter is truly here and I’m missing the sunshine.  I’m in need of a big warm hug from the sun so while I wait I thought I would bring you some kids clothes that have been injected with a little bit of sunny yellow.  I’m a huge fan of lots of yellow for nursery decor and for kiddy clothes but a splash of yellow with other colours works so well too.  Here are my top picks:

1.  The ever cool Bobo Choses brings us this ice-lolly vest for boy or girl.  You can get this at Orefeo Design.

2.  A pretty little crochet swing cardigan for baby girls from Les Jardins de Vie.  The lace details are just so girly and lovely.

3.  This sweet jumpsuit is from the fabulously stylish and fabulously French Bonpoint boutique and it’s for babies up to 2 years old.

4.  Adorable and bright, these little baby alpaca wool booties with suede soles are by Waddler and are hand made in Bolivia.

5.  Very unusual and very quirky with a vintage vibe is this postcard print dress by Dominique Ver Eecke from a boutique called Zoen.

6.  I’m loving the sunny yellow with the bold blue on these gorgeous little booties from Heart Felt 4 Kids.  The sunflower motif and floral lining makes them even more special.

7.  A flirty skirt in the most delicious berry and mustard colour combination – is there an adult version, please?!.  It’s by super trendy Miller London and it’s available from Elias & Grace.

8.  Angulus shoes have long been a favourite of mine and these pale yellow ones would be the perfect compliment to many an outfit on a dull winters day. They’re from Sparkle & Spin.

9.  Ouef NYC do create goodies that are hugely desirable as is this adorable 100% alpaca wool charcoal dress with cute heart shaped pockets in mustard.  Another lovely colour combo.

"red clothes for kids"

Christmas is over for another year but I’ve still got red on my mind so I thought I would bring you some lovely red clothes and shoes for the kiddies.  Red is such a happy colour which works for both boy and girl so it definitely gets my vote.  Here are my finds:

1.  Adorable tomato red romper in alpaca wool by Waddler.

2.  A trendy red dress with flutter details by The Brandstrom Company.  You’ll find it at Scandinavian Minimall.

3.  A striking red trench coat by Stella McCartney Kids which is currently on sale.

4.  Sweet n’ stripy red wellies for boy or girl by Polarn O. Pyret.

5.  Gorgeous handmade belt with flowers by Bellrose. It’s on sale at Little Fashion Gallery

6.  Cute little chunky cardi/coat with a pointy hood for babies from Bonton.

7.  Chic and simple is this red checked shirt by Simple Kids. It’s from Elias and Grace.

8.  Stunning Spanish dancing shoes with polka dots by Christa Davis.

"stylish kids clothes"

A few weeks ago I mentioned a shop called Flora & Henri.  It’s a little gem of a store in Seattle.  When I came across them I wrote about some amazing wooden toy boats that they were selling.  But their goodies don’t end there.  They have their own collection of kids clothes that are so, so beautiful.  Elegant, simple creations with bags of style is what you can expect.  I’m loving the mint coloured sweater with the pleated skirt, the faux fur jacket is another winner and then there are the shoes that come in the most delectable colours.  It’s all pretty fabulous stuff!  You can check out their entire collection at Flora and Henri and the good news is that they’re currently having a big sale at the moment.

"Anthropologie kids clothes"

Some time ago I wrote about the stunning clothes by Kicokids for Anthropologie.  But the stunning kids clothes at Anthropologie don’t end there.  There are some other lovelies on offer that have me drooling every time I look so I couldn’t help but share.  And if you’re a regular here you’ll know how crazy I am about Anthropologie… what a store it is!  Today’s obsession is for the dresses on offer especially the ‘Dotty Little Frock’ and the ‘Love Letters dress and bloomers’.  I keep looking at them and wanting – they’re so feminine and gorgeous, how can anyone resist?  Anthropologie have a way of creating things that are just so stylish and delectable and that’s exactly what these dresses are.  The kids line isn’t available through the UK Anthropologie but you can order from the US Anthropologie who thankfully ship internationally.

"Dominique Ver Eecke childrens collection"

"dominique ver eecke childrens clothes"

"dominique ver eecke kids collection"

While browsing the Spanish online boutique Nobodinoz, I discovered Dominique Ver Eecke.  I was instantly drawn to the wonderful children’s clothes that this Belgian designer creates.  The clothes are bright and colourful, the prints playful and fun with a vintage vibe running through the creations.  On offer are quirky dresses, skirts and cardi’s for the girls and shirts and trousers for the boys.  I’m loving that all the pieces are statement’s in themselves but still work beautifully well together.  Truly unique stuff.  The photography too deserves more than a mention.  The settings, the backdrops, the colours, all of it comes together for a magnificent feast for the eyes.  You can find Dominique Ver Eecke’s children’s collection at Nobodinoz or Zoenkids, both of whom have a different pieces and ship internationally.

"wovenplay clothes for children"

"wovenplay fall 2011 collection"

"wovenplay autumn winter 2011"

I’m a huge fan of Wovenplay and I always look out for their new collections.   With each new collection you also get a visual treat with their stunning photography.  All the collections I’ve seen have been shot on the streets of New York (I think).   I love the contrast of the soft clothes against the concrete urban setting that is New York.  I went looking for the latest Wovenplay Autumn Winter 2011 collection and fell in love all over again.  The clothes have all the drama and whimsy that I’ve come to expect of Wovenplay with pieces like the Jada suit, Prussian tutu and the Shark shorts on offer.  And then there are the feather head pieces which I adore and which any little girl would love.  You can check out the Wovenplay Autumn Winter 2011 collection on their site where you’ll also find a list of International stockists.

P.S. Have you checked out our 2011 Christmas gift guide?  We’ve started it but there’s lots more to come next week.
