French fashion for kids sale

One of things instilled in me by both my parents was to always dress well.  In our home, dressing well was just as important as good manners.  By dressing well I don’t mean expensively or in designer gear but smart, clean, ironed clothes that always looked more than presentable.  I remember my teenage years when ripped jeans and crumpled clothes were all the rage (or so I thought!) and my father looking appalled that I would be stepping out in such clothes. But he also knew better than to argue with a sulky, temperamental teenager!  That phase aside,  I couldn’t agree more with my parents and I hope to teach Anya the same.  Apart from the importance of  looking presentable, I also think a little style in everyday life makes you feel just as good as it makes you look.

I spend time and effort buying clothes for myself but equally do the same for Anya.  I like her to look good every time she goes out but at the same time I don’t want to spend crazy amounts on her clothes as kids grow so fast.  I’m always looking for cool style at the best prices and so I was happy to discover Tendre Deal where you get chic French fashion for kids and babies at up to 70% off.  Tendre deal is a private members site so if you want to be in the know you just have to sign-up for free with your email and you’ll be told about each new sale that comes up.  New sales come up pretty often and last for about a week.  In the past they have sold well known French brands like Jacadi and Chupeta shoes and also many lesser known French brands all of which still offer lots of style.  And occasionally they even have French toys and decor from brands like Janod and Annabel Kern.

With each sale being up to 70% off it’s hard to resist the goodies on offer so I will be keeping an eye on Tendre Deal especially to snap up of some of my favourite French designers as and when they come up.  Currently they have the chic Les Petites Choses on sale with some fab bargains for both boys and girls.

"French linen dresses for girls"

I wanted to start the week by sharing this effortlessly simple and stylish collection of linen dresses.  Linen is such a beautiful fabric both in look and feel and so perfect for Summer.  These dresses by Le Vestiaire de Jeane are easy to wear, loose fitting for comfort and great for dressing up or down.  The collection also includes similar dresses for women and I can’t help but think they would be so cool and comfy to wear during a Summer pregnancy and beyond.

Diapers & Milk

"grey leggings for boys"

I naturally get more drawn to girls clothes simply because I only have a daughter and also the choice out there for girls is pretty amazing and diverse especially if you look beyond the mainstream.  But lately I’ve seen a lot more happening in the world of boys fashion which is exciting.  There’s no reason why boys shouldn’t have as much choice as girls.  So when I came across this new French brand called Diapers & Milk, it’s was so refreshing to see that they don’t differentiate between boys and girls.  They make really cute leggings that are unisex.

"unisex baby leggings"

Boys leggings aren’t that easy to find but I wonder why.  Leggings are seriously comfy and practical wear for babies and young kids so why should they be only for girls?  Diapers & Milk have colourful leggings like that sweet mustache print as well as more muted graphic print ones that would all look so cute on boy or girl.  You can find a selection of these fun unisex leggings at French Blossom.

Tee time…

November 13, 2013

"graphic tees for girls"How cute are these tee’s by Blune Paris?  For me they evoke a festive feeling perfect for the Xmas celebrations around the corner.  My favourite is the one dotted with mini triangles but which one do you like best?

"French clothes for children"I’m a big fan of stocking up on stylish essentials for my daughters wardrobe (and mine); you know the kind that let you mix and match to create chic everyday looks.  That is exactly what this new AW 2013 collection by Merveilles does so well.  It’s full of very French and very chic essentials that can be dressed up or down.  The collection is small with mostly girls clothes although there are a few pieces for boys too.  I’m loving that denim and mustard combo and that green outfit is super chic too!

Update August 2014: Sadly Merveilles no longer exists.

Emile et Ida…

March 5, 2013

"French clothes for kids"One of my favourite things to do at this time of year is to discover and drool over all the new Spring/Summer collections that start trickling in to the shops.  Not only are they a joy to look at but it also helps me believe that Summer can’t be that far away.  Some of the coolest and prettiest lines I discover each year come from France.  So I went to have a look at what new stuff my sponsors French Blossom have as they hand pick collections from some of the best French designers.  One of the first new collections I found and completely fell for was Emile et Ida.

"french summer clothes for kids"This new Spring Summer 2013 collection is one that you can’t help but fall in love with.  When I first found out about Emile et Ida I assumed their brand name came from their children’s names as with so many kids brands these days.  But not in this case… instead, it is the first names of the creator’s parents.   This sentiment of loving the past and what it represents is reflected throughout their designs.  The girls clothes are inspired by a love of all things vintage while the boys collections are influenced by the spirit of rock n’ roll of days gone by.  For the girls you’ll find pretty skirts and tops in rich colours complimented with dusty shades and often dotted with flecks of gold.  For the boys there are graphic tees and bright jeans on offer which are all very cool but that mustache tee has got to be my favourite.  The appeal of Emile et Ida lies in it’s effortless, wearable designs that are so chic.  Visit French Blossom to see more of the collection and I know they’re getting a few more pieces this week.

"french leather baby sandals"

"linen baby clothes"

"leather sandals for kids"I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw this new Spring Summer 2013 collection from Les Zigouis.  How gorgeous are the clothes sets and those soft leather sandals?  Everything here is handmade making it even more special.  Barbara Berrada makes all the clothes while all the shoes have been made by Pieni for Les Zigouis.  Those pale blue-grey sandals at the top are just to die for!  And the mustard and navy blue ensemble is just too cute.  Les Zigouis always offers us something very special and unique and this new collection is just that.

April showers…

"French kids bedding"

April Showers by Polder is the perfect combination of Scandinavian style with French charm.  Started by a pair of Dutch sisters who now live in Paris, this kids bedding, clothes and accessories collection is just divine.  I love the muted colours with unexpected pops of neon, the subtle prints and the timeless designs.  This is their current Autumn/Winter collection and I want everything in it especially those leggings!  You can shop this collection at Smallable.comwhere there are quite a few items on sale too.

"louis louise winter 2012"

♫ Happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear French Blossom! ♫

French Blossom, my lovely sponsors have just turned 1.  To celebrate their 1st birthday they are offering a range of promotions in their store for the next few days.  So if you’ve got Christmas shopping to do for the kids, now might be the time to get some cool French clothes, toys and gifts with up to 30% off.  But even if you like something that’s not on offer my readers can still get 10% off by using the code EBABEES at checkout.

I wanted to check out their birthday promo so I went along to have a look.  I didn’t get much further than the new Louis Louise Autumn/Winter 2012 collection.  Soft and delicate fabrics in solid colours and understated prints have been used to create chic little outfits with lots of French style.  I’m loving the tiny stars dotted around many of their pieces especially the purple London bloomer with gold stars… how cute is that?  The collection expertly combines colours like charcoal greys, mustards and ruby reds which are just perfect for Autumn and Winter… bold enough to stand out without being too loud.  There are many Louis Louise pieces that have been discounted in the French Blossom birthday promo so go and have a look and don’t forget to use the code EBABEES if you fall for something not on sale.

P.S. There’s still time to enter our scary/cute Halloween giveaway!

Pops of colour…

October 2, 2012

"french clothes fro kids"On Sunday we were out having lunch when I heard a man say ‘wow, look at those purple shoes… what a cool baby!”.  It took me a moment to realise he was talking about my baby wearing her deep pinky-purple Ben Simons.  It was such a delightful moment as out of the blue, a fully grown man was so visibly excited about a little pair of purple shoes.  My daughter was wearing the bright shoes with muted fall coloured clothes so the shoes really stood out.

"hot pink shoes girls"

I love the effect of combining lots of soft neutral tones with unexpected pops of bright colour.  And that’s why I love the wonderfully French and super chic boutique that is Bonton.  They have a real knack of putting together fabulous looks for both boys and girls; looks where they use lots of sandy beiges, soft greys and chocolate browns and then they throw in that solid block of colour which takes an outfit from nice to super stand-out nice.

"trendy clothes for boys"

Most of their kids clothes come in a huge range of colours so you can mix and match and choose which part of the outfit you want make bold.  It could be as simple as a bright yellow scarf thrown over a pale brown dress or you could go for bright red trousers with a soft grey shirt.  The choice is yours.  I’m currently lusting over those hot pink shoes… how great are they?  I’ve also spotted the perfect little skirt to go with.  Visit Bonton to see their entire collection and don’t miss their lovely decor stuff much of which has a delightful little vintage twist.
