My husband recently visited Warsaw, Poland on a work trip. I so wish I had gone along with him because in recent months I have seen absolutely amazing design come out of Poland. I’ve discovered some fab kids brands like Kids on the Moon and Pola & Frank and today I wanted to share my latest discovery… Booso. The one thing that stands out for me with all these Polish brands is that they keep it simple. There is no unnecessary fuss or frills but instead the clothes shine with their simple, clean styles and what’s more they look super comfy to wear too. And the clothes from Booso are exactly that… stylish and fun clothes that won’t restrict a child in any way. I also love their colour palette of mostly blacks, whites and soft browns but often complimented by a shock of bright colour. That orange turban style hat is just too cute! Booso don’t sell online yet but you can contact them through their site.

A little bit of magic…
June 4, 2013
What’s not to love about this wonderful new collection by Wovenplay for Spring Summer 2013? Full of understated drama and whimsy coupled with that magical touch that only Wovenplay can deliver. This may be my favourite ever Wovenplay collection but then again I think that about every new collection of theirs.
In every collection I usually have a favourite piece but here I’m struggling to choose just one or even two pieces. Everything is divine from the silk satin bikini to the orange stripey sunsuit. Truly magical stuff…
I’m off to dream about adding a little bit of Wovenplay magic to Anya’s wardrobe…
There once was a polka dot dress…
May 29, 2013
The other week my daughter and I were out shopping when she spotted a multi-coloured polka dot dress that she absolutely fell for. It wasn’t something I would’ve chosen but since she was so keen on it, I felt bad to deny her. If I’m completely honest, I am not very good at letting my daughter choose her own clothes because I am very fussy! I live in fear of the time when she wants to wear purple and pink from head to toe and those days will come very soon. With this dress I think it was the many different coloured polka dots that drew her in and while I do love polka dots, I much prefer simplicity, subtlety and just 1 or 2 colour tones. But thanks to her love for the dress, I remembered this black and white polka dot dress by Pola & Frank that I had seen and loved.
Pola & Frank are a fairly new brand of simple and stylish clothes for kids, tweens and women. When I saw this Spring/Summer 2013 collection I fell for it. Very wearable and practical for kids, yet so stylish with the ribbon details and the muted tones. Also, their collection for mama’s looks easy to wear without compromising on style and they do have a cool selection for boys too. Pola & Frank are from Poland, a country which is creating some amazing designs at the moment and I am so happy to have discovered them. I love all the pieces in this collection but if I had to choose a favourite, it would have to be that black & white polka dot dress which may just mysteriously replace the multi-coloured one we have!
P.S. I’ve been interviewed on the cool honest mum blog today… read it here.
