One of the best parts of the changing of the seasons has got to be the new fashions that arrive. While the weather may not always do what it’s supposed to, at least we know that we will get new fashion to covet, each season. One of my favourite things to buy Anya each Spring/Summer season is a jumpsuit. They are so practical and easy to wear, allowing kids to move freely and do what they do. And with so many great jumpsuits for kids out there, it’s hard to resist. And not just for girls. There are some seriously cool jumpsuits for boys too – I’ve picked out some of the best below.
I have been looking for a maxi dress for Anya for ages. I really wonder why maxi dresses for little girls are so rare. They may not be the most practical for playing in a park or running around but they are great for other occasions like a meal out or even a birthday party. I finally found one last week and I had to snap it up. They look so cool and stylish and Anya loved wearing it and twirling around. In fact it’s been a struggle to get it off her – she even wanted to sleep with it on!
We decided to pair it with orange ankle boots to give the maxi dress a bit more of an edgier look. Sandals would have been the obvious choice but I didn’t want too girly a look. And besides we’re still waiting for proper sandal weather in London – will it ever come? While out in the dress so many people stopped us and asked where the dress was from. We were mostly stopped by mums who also wanted a long dress for their little girls. Have you come across any maxi dresses for little girls? I’d love to hear as I would like to get a couple more for the Summer.
Foxes, elephants, birds and bunnies are everywhere on kids things from their clothes to decor. For a change, I love a bit of fish themed things and these are some my current favourites (especially those fish hair clips):
How gorgeous are these shades for Summer? When I saw those women’s dresses I totally fell for the colours. Fresh, soft and flirty, perfect for those glorious sunny days ahead (I hope!). And the kids clothes are no less beautiful, especially those lemon yellow dungarees. Seeing colours like these in the shops makes me happy and hopeful for a long, hot Summer.
I’m loving these sweet little flamingos and hearts dotted over tees, dresses, bags and more. Pretty little prints for the cutest little people. My favourite is that flamingo baby tee but I also love that heart print sweatshirt for older girls. What would you choose?
When I saw this adorable new collection by Zara mini, it brought back the sweetest memories. I loved dressing my daughter in Zara mini clothes when she was a tiny baby and I think I’ve saved nearly all the outfits she had. The clothes and accessories were always very stylish but also practical and very baby-ish. They are exactly the kind of clothes you imagine a baby should wear and it looks like this latest collection is just as adorable. I also love the styling done by April and May which shows off the collection beautifully by using things like those wooden sticks that represent the stylish and understated colour palette Unfortunately my daughter is now way too big for Zara mini clothes but I still check out their collections as I love gifting things like those cute little rompers to friends with newborns.
About 3 weeks ago I was in Zara Kids checking out their new Autumn Winter 2011 collection. Whenever I go I have to be quick as my 2 year old has taken a shine to playing hide n’ seek in between the clothes and under the display rails and tables. I can almost see the day where I will be on my hands and knee’s picking up mountains of clothes that she’s tipped over. On this day I was about to leave when I saw my kiddo hiding in a swathe of orange. The colour caught my eye and I went to check it out. I’m glad I did as I found this stunning winter coat. Even though it was still August and officially summer, I had to buy it; I couldn’t possibly have taken the chance of it selling out.
I have been meaning to share this find with you for days. But I wanted to photograph my daughter wearing it. This is no easy task, I tell you. She’s 2, going on 3 and is a very fast moving target. I did manage to get some photos yesterday… please be kind, photography isn’t one of my skills! Back to this orange winter coat. I love the details on it; the fur lined hood, the suede clasps and the camel coloured trimmings on the pockets and cuffs. It fits beautifully, it looks gorgeous and the orange is such a refreshing change from greys and browns. This coat is part of Zara’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection and costs £32.99, not a bad price for a winter coat. Head to Zara Kids to have a look and as you probably know Zara sell online too.
I went to the shops this morning. It was mostly uneventful, boring even, until the moment I spotted these uber-stylish baby Jodhpurs. Exactly like a pair of Jodhpurs but a shrunken version. How cool is that? Just picture your 2 year old strutting around in these. Add a pair of boots and you’re going to have the hippest baby on the block! They’re from Zara in sizes 3-36 months and they cost £9.99 plus £3.95 delivery. And if you’ve been reading my blog, you’ll know that Zara now sell online.
