"shades of blue mood board"Using different shades of the same colour can look quite striking in a kids room or any room.  Some colours work better than others and I think blue is one of the best because it has so many different shades.  So for today’s pinterest colour palette I gathered a range of different tones of blue which I think work equally well for a boy or a girls space.

1.  Vintage wallpaper and chair,  2.  Toy boat,  3.  Woolen cloud decorations,  4.  Girls outfit,  5.  Rag doll and shoes

Pins from Youpou, Smudgetikka and my pinterest boards.  Are you on pinterest?

"cloud raindrops hearts wall stickers"Lately I’ve become a bit obsessed with geometric shaped wall stickers that can be stuck on randomly in a room and these ones from Sirlig are my latest find.  Sirlig is Danish for ‘delights’ and that’s exactly what this store is full of… little delights.  From the adorable wall stickers to that sweet doll and those animal pencil cases, all their goodies are the kinds of things that will make you smile.  And it’s not just for kids.  There’s plenty on offer that will work just as well in an adult, child or family space like that colourful cloud print hung above the dining table.  Of all the geometric wall stickers at Sirlig, I think those pale turquoise polka dot ones are probably my favourite but there’s plenty to choose from including the turquoise hearts, some triangles, diamonds and more.

"french baby bedlinen nursery decor"Les Pommettes du Chat (Cheekbones of the cat) is a lovely French boutique that makes the sweetest little decorations for babies and kids.    They have adorable things like those soft mini triangle rattles and tiny little clouds for hanging on the wall.   They also make some very pretty bed linen and other textiles like bibs, pouches and paper garlands.  The fabrics are all so pretty and delicate and the creations feel like they’ve been made with lots of love and a touch of poetry.  I love boutiques like Les Pommettes du Chat because their offerings are so unusual and it almost feels like the products have been created especially for you.

Tutus galore…

February 20, 2013

"grey tutu for girls"I recently came across this new collection of kids clothes from Poland and I fell for their tutu’s.  Little girls and tutu’s are a match made in heaven especially when they’re paired with something casual and unfussy like this cloud jersey top.  And besides, which little girl doesn’t like a tutu?  My daughter is a huge fan and would wear hers everyday if she was allowed.

"tutus for babies and girls"Kids on the Moon make tutu’s in the most beautiful colours from soft pastels to the darkest shades.  Their tutu’s look like they’re soft and have loads of movement giving them such a carefree feel which I’m loving.  They also make other really cute stuff for both boys and girls like stripey mustache tee’s, cat sweatshirts and more.

"purple tutu for girls"Kids on the Moon haven’t yet opened their online shop but it’s coming soon and I can’t wait!  Even if you’ve only got boys, do check out their collection as you won’t be disappointed with the cool sweats and tees on offer.

A house in the clouds…

November 21, 2012

"dolls house shelves"When it comes to kids decor, all manner of animals have adorned so many different objects.  The fox, owl and elephant have been some of the most popular but I have even come across some unexpected animals like anteaters and bulls.  But now, these {lovely} beasts have got competition in the form of the humble cloud.  I mean how many wonderful versions of cloud pillows have there been?  While I love the whole animal thing, I think I may just love the cloud a teeny bit more.  There’s something quite cuddly and comforting about the shape with it’s soft curves and ageless appeal.  So when I saw this cloud shelf and felt cloud mobile, I had to find out more.

I discovered Coccoli home, a new Spanish shop that makes not only these cloudy creations but also those fun house shelves that double up as dolls houses.  There are also some adorable raindrop wall hooks and lots of colourful wall stickers on offer.  I love the idea of lining up some of these dolls houses with the cloud mobiles hanging above them.  It would {almost} be like having a house in the clouds!  And when your childs grown out of playing with dolls houses, the shelves can be moved to any room in the house as cute storage shelves.  The Coccoli home collection is sold through their own site and also exclusively through the lovely My Little Square.
