"yellow collection for mama and baby"

While I’m normally a black & white kind’a girl, I do like a bit of sunny yellow especially in Summer.  Yellow is a colour that makes you feel happy the moment you see it (think Pharell Williams).  So here are a few yellow things for mama and baby that I’m currently loving for the Summer months ahead:

1. pleated cotton kids dress | 2. straw storage baskets | 3. crystal bead necklace | 4. girls daffodil headband | 5. straw tote bag | 6. giraffe lambswool soft toy

"6 etsy favourites for kids"

Here are 6 things I’m currently loving on etsy:

1.  Cute animal alphabet cards…  2.  a bouquet of pom pom flowers…  3.  organic cotton raindrop baby blanket…  4.  Mog the cat lambswool soft toy…  5.  double sided bunny ears hairband…  6.  hand-knitted detachable baby pierrot collar.

"bunny soft toys bunny plush"

With Easter coming up you can’t move for bunnies.  Even though they’re everywhere I still like a stuffed toy bunny  especially because I love how this one animal can be designed to have so many different looks.  I’ve seen cute bunnies, quirky bunnies, funny bunnies and even some slightly sinister looking ones!  So I rounded up some of my current favourite bunny soft toys and while no two are even slightly alike, they’ve all got lots of charm.  Which one do you like best?

1.  cuddling rabbit…  2.  spotty bunny…  3.  tall long-eared bunnies…  4.  pretty girl bunny…  5.  quirky denim bunny…  6.  cute brown Easter bunny.

"blush pink baby clothes shoes"

The word ‘blush’ is such a pretty way to describe this beautiful pale peachy-pink colour which I’m loving for Spring.  So soft and feminine, this is a colour I want to see more of in my home and wardrobe.  So I went looking for blush things for mamas and kids and here are my favourtie finds:

 1.  lunch bag style clutch…  2.  floral printed kids dress…  3.  ballet bunny soft toy…  4.  face cleanse powder…  5.  stoneware trinket box…  6.  dotty oxford shoes.

"elephant soft toy dolls"

This family of elephant dolls is just the cutest, don’t you think?  They’re created by a new group of designers called Atelier Sans Souci who also make furniture, illustrations, jewellery and more.  Their first collection, full of imagination and creativity, is all handmade by local craftsmen and carpenters making it even more special.  There’s a dolls house that can be used as a play or work space, there are the sweetest bow shaped wall hooks, fun illustrations and more.  My favourite though are this adorable elephant family.

"modern dolls house in wood"

I’m loving the pops of neon throughout the collection and the little extra details on each piece.  You can see the rest of the collection at the lovely Sisters Guild, who are the only UK stockists of Atelier Sans Souci at the moment.

"pinterest inspired colour palette 3"Today I was feeling drawn to this simple colour palette of soft pinks, greys, creams and a bit of black.  This pinterest colour palette was inspired by that little girl in her very cool outfit.  These colours work so well on an outfit but I especially love them for a kids room.  The next time I decorate Anya’s room, this is the colour palette for me.

1. Girls style,  2. Jealous baby toy,  3. Pompom shoes,  4. Trio of soft toys,  5. Mouse slippers

A natural nursery…

October 16, 2013

"natural nursery decor ideas"Lately I’ve been coming across many Scandinavian homes decorated with lots of natural wood.   The look is clean and minimal but still very warm.  So I started thinking about using natural wood with natural colours and fabrics for decorating a baby nursery.   It’s ideal for boy or girl so if you don’t know what you’re having, you can still go ahead and decorate without compromising.  And since the wood is bare, you can even make some of the furniture yourself,  like storage shelves and simple tables.  And the best part is that it’s not a look your child will outgrow in a hurry.  Here are a few things I picked out that would work well in a natural nursery:

1. bear print…  2. toy shelf…  3. elephant soft toy…  4. pale spotted duvet set…  5.  luminous linen star light…  6. caravan crib in natural.

P.S. Have you entered this great giveaway to win a very stylish natural baby carrier

"colour palette of blues, greens, greys"There is something so eye-catching and vibrant about turquoise blue.  So when I spotted that cool turquoise and green room it inspired me for todays pinterest colour palette.  I love using blue and green together whether it’s midnight-blue with emerald green or turquoise with a fresher green like here.  And you can always add a little grey in to the mix if you feel like you need something neutral to balance it out.

1. Turquoise and green kids room,  2. Mountain peaks kids blanket,  3. Baby ballerina shoes,  4.  Howling wolf wallsticker,  5.  Handmade doll twins.

"pinterest inspired colour palette 1"Of all the social media sites out there, I’m enjoying pinterest the most at the moment.  I love looking at pretty pictures and pinterest is full of them.  So I thought it would be fun to occasionally share some of my pins and also pins from other inspirational pinners.  But instead of just sharing pictures randomly, I’ve picked a colour palette and have chosen images within these colours.  So for this first one I’ve gone with black, white, green and the slightest hint of a peachy pink.  I love this combination of colours and think they would work well together in a kids room or even as an outfit.

Are you on pinterest?  Do you love it too or what’s your favourite social media?

1.  Green knitted sweater,  2.  Black and white kids room,  3.  Don’t grow up poster,  4. Green striped jacket,  5.  Cat at the altar doll
