"animal coat hooks"

I’m in like with these animal shaped coat hooks.  On offer are a dog, a hedgehog and a whale.  Designed by the oh so talented Swedes (the people, not the veggie!), these hooks would make a fun and stylish addition to a kidlet’s room.  Place them on a contrasting coloured feature wall and watch them stand out from the crowd. Painted in bold, solid colours, and made by Maze International, these animal coat hooks cost £19.53 each.  All 3 are pretty darn sweet but if I had to choose one, I’m feeling that teeny tiny bit more love for the hedgehog.

P.S. Don’t forget to check out our baby auction site packed with baby bargains.

"make your own paper city"Made by Joel is a blog I love.  Joel’s a daddy with creativity running through every pore of his being.  He creates all manner of craft projects for his kids and then he shares them on his blog.  Thank you Joel.  Today I wanted to share his make your own paper city.  It’s a cool city with lots of little people, all hand drawn by Joel.  All you have to do is print out the template for your kids and then let them have fun cutting out the people and colouring in the city if they like.  And they could even add a dog, a tree or anything they like to their city.  Perfect for the grey, dull, rainy days that January often brings.

P.S. Also checkout the paper city vehicles and helicopter that Joels added to the collection.

"spare travel outfit for baby"

I’ve been digging deep in to the corners of the internet and boy did this pay off.  I’ve unearthed Monsieur Minouchet, a Belgian shop packed to the rafters with cool kiddy stuff.  From all their lovely offerings, today I’m bringing you Baby Spare Wear.  Baby Spare Wear is Californian born and bred and it does exactly what it says on the tin.  It’s a spare outfit for your baby when you’re on the go, whether just popping out or flying  abroad. Each set contains 2 tees and a pair of trousers all packed in a chic travel case with a spare pocket for a nappy and wipes.  And the outfit itself… sleek, simple style.  Colours on offer include a grey/blue combo, grey/plummy pink combo and grey/green combo, each with a different animal logo.  No more hunting around for a spare outfit, just grab your pre-packed baby spare wear and go!  The baby spare wear lot say ‘… it looks smart on babies and even smarter on mums’.  How right they are.

Baby Spare Wear is currently on sale over at Monsieur Minochet and is reduced by a chunky 50%.  A set costs €16.50 instead of the usual €33 and delivery to the UK is from €8.  Because of this hefty price reduction, it’s selling out fast, so if you want one be nimble, be quick. Good luck!  And as for Monsieur Minochet… I can’t wait to return and bring you more cool from there.

"vintage animal wall stickers"My pulse is racing, my heart is thumping… the excitement levels are super high all because I have spotted these animal wall stickers.  I’m truly, madly, deeply, in love with these wall stickers made from vintage wallpaper.

As the story goes: One day, a Dutch mama wanted to decorate her son’s bedroom.  Liking retro stuff, she decided to cut out large animal shapes from vintage wallpaper.  Folks loved it so much, she started selling it (thank god!).  Inke Heiland, the mama in question handcrafts all the stickers and they’re all limited editions.  The prints are constantly changing; as one style of vintage wall paper runs out, she turns to another.

If you’re after super unique, fab style that may just have Elle Decor knocking on your door, look no further.  Inke Heiland’s vintage Animal Wall Stickers are mostly large in size, range from £12.95 to £50 with delivery at £4.95 and include paste and brush.  And you get to choose which way the animal faces as well as the print you like… as they’re all delectable, this may prove a serious problem (but what a problem to have).

P.S. Check out Inke Heiland‘s shop too.  You may not be able to leave… I spent forever checking out all the patterns on offer.

"moulin roty castle shadows"

Once upon a time, the toothless wicked witch of Moulin Roty decided she wanted to be a princess.  In the still of the night, she crept in to the thick forest behind the enchanted castle and began casting spells on the handsome prince.  That’s my story… what will yours be?  Or better yet what will your pre-schoolers be?  I’m enchanted, enthralled, spellbound almost by these dark castle shadows by Moulin Roty.  At bedtime, grab these shadows, watch their silhouettes dance across your nursery walls and let your bambino indulge in imagining what he will… will it be about a princess rescued form the wicked witch or a prince with a fairy godmother or an enchanted castle?  These shadows will make imaginations run riot.  The Moulin Roty castle shadows cost £12 with delivery at £4.50.  What a fantastical idea!

"studio violet posters"

Quirkylicious, humourous and one of a kind are these prints and posters by the 2 talented Scandi ladies at Studio Violet.  Meet Mr Mustache, Miss Katta and the gang.  Chances are you’ve never seen anything quite like them before.  Soft, delicate tones infused with vintage style combine to give you characters so delectable and prints so stylish.  Understated in colour but oh so big on impact, these prints will be noticed whether you choose to place them in the nursery or even in your own room.  They’re available from the Studio Violet site and cost between €16 and €21 with delivery from €5.  Also on offer are a pack of 6 postcards for €8.50. The Studio Violet gals have certainly got an imagination and a half!

UPDATE OCT 2011: Studio Violet are no more but you can still get their goodies at Fine Little Day (started by Elisabeth who was one half of the Studio Violet duo) or have a look at Camilla’s site (she’s the other half!).

"Eames elephant chair"

Elephants… what makes them so, so appealing to kids and adults alike?  Don’t know, but I do know that I’m crazy about them.  So naturally when I spotted this elephant chair /toy I fell in lust, big time.  Made by Vitra, a Swiss furniture company, this hugely adorable elephant was originally designed in 1945 but wasn’t available to buy.  Thanks to the design loving shopping gods out there (whom I regularly pray to), you can now buy it… hooray!  It comes in a range of divinely delicious colours, can be used indoors and out and is just so cool.  Place it with pride in your kiddies room or out in the garden if you want to make the neighbours green.  Or even in the living room to add a dash of quirk to your adult space, that is if  you’ve got any adult space left.  Called the Eames Elephant Chair, I’ve found it on sale for £112 with free delivery (normally £139 plus delivery).  It measures about 415mm high x 410mm wide and 785mm long.  Big enough to make it’s presence felt but not so big as to be the elephant in the room!!

Don’t forget to have a look at ebabee, our baby auction site.

"cocoboheme baby bibs"

It’s been a while since I’ve brought you baby bibs but I haven’t found any worth mentioning.  That is, until today when I spotted these animal bibs by Cocoboheme. They’re so darn chic and stylish, I just had to tell you about them.  Made from potato starch, these bibs are biodegradable, re-usable, water proof and easy to clean.  Big on design yet kind to the planet – we like that around here.  The French team describe their creations as a mixture of craftiness, whimsy, poetry and aesthetics with a practical side and I couldn’t agree more.  The Cocoboheme animal bibs cost £10.80 each plus £3.50 delivery.  You’ve got a red lobster, orange hen, green frog and a pink pig to choose from… and if choosing one’s a problem, get two or three or all!

Check out our baby auction site which has baby bargains galore!
