How fun are these alphabet shelves? So great for storing all those little toys that never find a home (except under your feet!) but they’d also work just as well as art for your kids walls. I’m dreaming of one lined-up with lots of little Sonny Angels. Made by a small NY based design studio called Chiaozza, these alphabet shelves are currently on offer at Fab, where I found them.
I couldn’t help but do a double-take when I saw this simple, minimal, fuss-free collection from Japanese stylist and mum Jiana. Here it’s all about the shapes and silhouettes. The styles are ageless and so fittingly, Jiana does similar clothes for women too. It’s not often that I come across such simplicity in kids clothes but when I do I can’t help but fall a little bit in love. This chic brand is called Shihoshi and their online shop is opening this Autumn.
I’ve been collecting a selection of stylish things, ideas and thoughts I’ve liked for a while and today I thought I would share some of them with you. Hope you like them too!
1. simple kids room styling… 2. chunky knits on kids… 3. bright pink and red together… 4. apostrophe magnets for your fridge… 5. always remember to love yourself… 6. a mini cloud for your daughters wrist.
Have a wonderful weekend!
This week’s picks for mama and baby… let mama wrap her gifts with this bold polka dotted ribbon while baby wears that bright bubble knit sweater.
Today I was feeling drawn to this simple colour palette of soft pinks, greys, creams and a bit of black. This pinterest colour palette was inspired by that little girl in her very cool outfit. These colours work so well on an outfit but I especially love them for a kids room. The next time I decorate Anya’s room, this is the colour palette for me.
1. Girls style, 2. Jealous baby toy, 3. Pompom shoes, 4. Trio of soft toys, 5. Mouse slippers

Just look at this stuff; so sophisticated and yet so simple. This is a new brand from Vienna called Vividgrey started by Sabine, an interior architect, designer and also mama of one. All the textiles and objects are designed for ‘a home shared between children and grown-ups’ and I can see this stuff working beautifully in any environment. There are little unexpected surprises in many of the pieces like the cobweb linen curtain where the cobweb detail is only visible when the curtain is back lit. Or the linen cushions which have a hidden print of a trail of ants or mystery keys which are only revealed when the overlap is opened.
Besides the textiles, there are other interesting objects in the collection like that shiny mobile designed to resemble a branch of a tree and those beautiful wooden play beads to entertain even the smallest of babies. ‘Everyday magic’ is how Sabine describes Vividgrey and I totally believe her.
A mini house within a house has got to be one of childhood’s biggest pleasures. Hiding out in a play tent or tipi and imaging all sorts of adventures is so much fun for any kid. I think every little kid should have one whether bought or just put together. There are so many ways to create a secret hide out and make it work in the space you have like this house shaped bed or that mattress and cushions on the floor with some pretty fabric thrown over. But the most awesome one has to be that green yurt inside which is that super lucky kids entire bedroom!
Have a fun weekend!
