"pretty hair clips for girls"My daughter is such a girly girl that I have trouble getting her to wear anything but skirts and dresses.  Sometimes jeans or trousers are just more practical but getting these on her means a guaranteed battle that often ends in tears and tantrums.  Recently I had a thought –  why not try putting some ribbon in her hair on the days she has to wear jeans or has to wear anything less girly.  This has worked a treat.  So I’ve gone with this idea and taken it a step further by getting lots of pretty hair clips as well as ribbons in a range of colours.  While looking for hair clips, these were some of my favourite finds and so I thought I would share because any of these would make great stocking fillers for all your girly girls.

The 3 hair clips on the left are by The Summer House while the 3 on the right are by Cos.

"animal print wallpaper for kids"Today my wallpaper obsession is being fueled by these adorable modern designs by interior designers Sissy & Marley for Jill Malek.  These chic patterns come mostly in metallic silver or gold and the prints are small and subtle enough so even though they work really well in a nursery, they’d also work in an older child’s room.  Which is a relief as there is no DIY job worse than stripping wallpaper!  My favourite is the giraffes one but I can’t decide if I like the silver or gold better.  What’s your favourite?

Have a delightful weekend and see you on Monday.

"graphic tees for girls"How cute are these tee’s by Blune Paris?  For me they evoke a festive feeling perfect for the Xmas celebrations around the corner.  My favourite is the one dotted with mini triangles but which one do you like best?

"shades of blue mood board"Using different shades of the same colour can look quite striking in a kids room or any room.  Some colours work better than others and I think blue is one of the best because it has so many different shades.  So for today’s pinterest colour palette I gathered a range of different tones of blue which I think work equally well for a boy or a girls space.

1.  Vintage wallpaper and chair,  2.  Toy boat,  3.  Woolen cloud decorations,  4.  Girls outfit,  5.  Rag doll and shoes

DIY first baby shoes…

November 11, 2013

"DIY first baby shoes"This is such a cute new idea or at least one I haven’t come across before.  Karolina from Poland makes little DIY kits that allow you to make your babies first shoes.  How sweet is that?  And once your baby outgrows the shoes, you can keep them as a wonderful memory.  These First Baby Shoe kits would be such a fun and unusual present for any new parents or parents to be.

Hatch, in style…

November 8, 2013

"not just maternity clothes"When I was pregnant I invested in a few key maternity pieces.  I spent a quite a lot on them simply because I didn’t want to compromise on my style just because I was pregnant.   They were great to wear while I was expecting and for a few months after but now those pieces are hanging in my wardrobe gathering dust.  Last week I came across Hatch and all I can say is where were they when I was pregnant?!  Hatch make super stylish clothes but the best bit is they’re not just for pregnancy.  Hatch collections are clothes that you can wear at pretty much any stage of your life including pregnancy.   And they’re especially great if you’ve got a bit of a post kids tummy… what’s not to like?

Have a happy weekend and don’t forget that you can still get 20% off a stylish budu baby carrier with the code: ebabee.

Comfy, cosy & chunky…

November 4, 2013

"chunky knit sweaters for kids"With the weather turning colder I’m turning to one of my favourite daytime looks of chunky knits, skinny jeans and boots.  This season I’m loving Cos for their over-sized knits for me but when it comes to kids, it gets a lot tougher to find chunky jumpers.  The chunky look works well on kids too and besides, it keeps them so warm and cosy.  So I was delighted to find babaa who make these comfy, cosy and snug looking sweaters in lots of bright colours.  The styles are all over-sized for comfort and to allow room for growth and they’re all pretty much unisex so they can be handed down from sibling to sibling.  From Spain, babaa are also soon introducing a line of women’s knits… perfect timing for those cold months ahead of us.
