mother daughter matching looks

A few years ago I bought a beautiful dull gold top.  From the minute I first wore it, Anya insisted she had to have the same.  She was only 3 years old.  Since then, she has often wanted us to wear matching clothes when we go out together.  Her sweet, sweet sentiment of wanting to be like her mama gives me a warm and happy feeling all over.  While I adore this sentiment, I can’t do full on matching mama and daughter style. Can you?  I can do complementary style yes, but matching head to toe, no. So recently, when Pisamonas offered to send us both a pair of shoes,  I thought this was the perfect opportunity for some similar mama and daughter style.  Both Anya and I opted for ballet pumps – she chose the sparkly pink ones while I opted for the black leather ballet pumps.

blue jumpsuit for girls

One of the best parts of the changing of the seasons has got to be the new fashions that arrive.  While the weather may not always do what it’s supposed to, at least we know that we will get new fashion to covet, each season.  One of my favourite things to buy Anya each Spring/Summer season is a jumpsuit.  They are so practical and easy to wear, allowing kids to move freely and do what they do. And with so many great jumpsuits for kids out there, it’s hard to resist.  And not just for girls.  There are some seriously cool jumpsuits for boys too – I’ve picked out some of the best below.

caramel SS15 ebabee

A quick start to the week today with this beautiful new Spring Summer collection.  Possibly one of my favourite UK brands for kids, each and every season their new collections don’t disappoint.  Classic, understated looks that are so stunning in their simplicity.  The collections for boys and girls are both equally beautiful.  With the boys I’m loving the vibrant colours mixed with neutrals and also the range of cool, summery trousers on offer.  If I had a boy, I really think Caramel would be high on my list of favourites for him.  And for the girls it’s classic cut dresses and some beautiful separates too.  Now all we need is Summer to hurry up and arrive!

Something fishy!

"Aehem fish sweatshirt Ebabee shop"

A quick shop update today as there some adorable new pieces that have landed on my doorstep.  First up is this fish sweatshirt.  In a dark navy with a mustard fish printed on the front, this sweatshirt is such a cute piece for either boy or girl.  It’s versatile enough to wear with jeans, skirts or even with our very own blue bloomer shorts.

"unisex beige ant leggings ebabee shop"

These leggings have got to be the cutest I’ve seen with those three little ants crawling over them!  In a dark beige, these ant leggings will go with anything.  Visit the shop for a more detailed view and to see the little ants up close.

"black and white girls leggings ebabee shop"

Last but not least are these bold graphic chain printed leggings.  On a white background, the black print really stands out and is so eye-catching.  If you’re in to mixing patterns like me, wear a bold printed top with these.  I love these with our feather print tunics.

These pieces, like many of the pieces in our shop are ideal for mixing and matching probably with what you already have in your wardrobe.  I love kids wearing clashing colours, mixed patterns, bold prints and generally breaking all the rules.  Because that’s when fashion gets fun!

"Autumn fashion inspiration for kids"

This week has seen the weather turn here in the UK.  It’s properly starting to feel Autumnal and so it’s time to bring out those warm clothes.  While I always prefer hotter weather, I am very partial to Autumn fashions for big and little alike.  All those hats, scarves, boots and socks can add so much to any outfit, taking it from simple to stunning.  Today I wanted to share a few inspirational Autumn looks I’m loving for kids.  I’m especially loving the touch of neon to liven up an otherwise muted gray outfit as seen in the first picture.  And also, a splash of mustard is another great colour to add to any Autumn outfit.

"European kids clothing shop"

Today I’m excited to introduce you to Walking the Cat, my newest sponsor and a very cool kids wear boutique from Germany.   Walking the Cat are a new online shop filled with some of my favourite brands like Bobo Choses, Louise Misha, Soft Gallery, Tocoto Vintage and more.  The founder Daria is crazy about kids fashion and it shows from her lovely selections.

"tights for boys"

Walking the Cat have clothes and accessories for boys, girls and babies.  One of their standout brands for me is Little Titans who make cool and colourful tights for boys as well as girls.  Who said tights are just for girls?!  Walking the Cat are new so they’re still adding labels to their range and one of their latest additions is Buho, a gorgeous brand from Spain.  While I have my favourites, all their brands are slightly unusual and very stylish yet very practical and comfy for kids too.  Walking the Cat, just like the name suggests, is a fun store with a cool attitude and they deliver worldwide too.

Simple pleasures…

"lifes simple pleasures"

I’m feeling so inspired by this photo stream that I found on flickr.  The photographs are beautiful and that little girl is always wearing such chic clothes.  But what really stands out for me is the simplicity of it all.  It’s really encouraging me to appreciate the simple pleasures of life, which I don’t do nearly as much as I should.  The photo’s focus around everyday life like eating, picking Autumn leaves, playing, exploring with your kids and just enjoying family life indoors and outdoors.  It’s all about those little pleasures that we experience everyday but don’t always take a moment to enjoy.

These photo’s are by a Japanese mama called Shima who clearly has an eye for pure beauty.  There are loads more photos so if you want a bit of inspiration, do take a look at her photo stream.  You won’t be disappointed.

Have a happy weekend!

Simple silhouettes…

October 29, 2013

"minimal Japanese clothes for kids"I couldn’t help but do a double-take when I saw this simple, minimal, fuss-free collection from Japanese stylist and mum Jiana.  Here it’s all about the shapes and silhouettes.  The styles are ageless and so fittingly, Jiana does similar clothes for women too.  It’s not often that I come across such simplicity in kids clothes but when I do I can’t help but fall a little bit in love.  This chic brand is called Shihoshi and their online shop is opening this Autumn.
