kids canvas trainers cheap

I’ve been waiting patiently for the British Summer to arrive (ok not so patiently) but it seems to be coming finally!  And someone has been tormenting me for a pair of sandals.  I thought this kind of torment only started when they were 16, not six!  But I’d much rather Anya ask me for something like sandals that she really wants and will use rather than for something she wants simply because her friends have it.  I’ve had my eye on a pair that I spotted months ago but have been waiting for the right weather.  Now that it’s here I’m ordering!

The sandals I’ve been coveting are the Spanish Avarcas by Pisamonas – they are so gorgeous!  Anya has  already had a pair of Pisamonas shoes before and they have been worn a fair amount and still look great.  So I know the sandals will be just as good and they are so reasonably priced that I can even splurge on two pairs – once you see the colours you’ll know why it’s hard to choose just one.  Besides those sandals they have loads more styles and another that caught my eye is a very pretty pair of flip-flop style sandals in similar colours as the Avarcas but with a bit of gold trim.  Perfect for a Summer party!

I tend to favour European shoes for Anya because I find that they fit her narrow feet better and they offer such fun styles too.  I’m so glad to have discovered Pisamonas who’s shoes are all made in Spain and they are some of the most reasonably priced kids shoes I have ever come across and the prices even include free delivery.  There is lots of fun stuff for boys too including the Avarcas sandals which are regularly worn by little boys in Spain and I think they look so cool.  For the boys I also love the canvas plimsolls which come is some fresh colours for Summer and those soft suede loafers are so fun too.  So if you want some stylish European shoes for your kids this Summer then check out Pisamonas and you won’t be disappointed with the range, the colours and the incredible prices.

Here’s a short video to give you a better flavour for the shoes:

This post is brought to you in partnership with Pisamonas.  All ideas, content and words are my own.  Thank you for supporting my work with carefully selected partners that support this blog.

Do you do knitwear in Summer?  I am so in love with this Spanish range of handmade knitwear for kids.  These bright and colourful cotton knit sweaters are perfect especially for those cooler Summer days.  Aren’t the colours just gorgeous?  All of these sweaters are unisex and handmade to last so they can be passed down from one sibling to another.    In addition to the sweaters, there are cardigans too and like the sweaters, many have contrasting coloured pockets which are so cute.  The sweaters even come in larger sizes for women.  While I am not in to wearing matching clothes with Anya, I think I would have to make an exception for these cotton sweaters.  Perhaps navy for me and yellow for her.

"Spanish baby clothes"Minimalism, especially in kids clothes, always grabs my attention.  1 + in the family is a new brand from Spain that expertly combines minimalism with practicality and comfort.  They offer a small range of stylish and wearable clothes for 0-24 month old babies.  I’m loving the combination of stripes and solids as well as the bold pink in the collection.  1 + in the family is the creation of Gemma Mases, a freelance designer who launched her first collection at the same time as her little niece was born late last year.  It’s only available in Spain so far but I’m sure it won’t be long before it hits the rest of Europe.

A house in the clouds…

November 21, 2012

"dolls house shelves"When it comes to kids decor, all manner of animals have adorned so many different objects.  The fox, owl and elephant have been some of the most popular but I have even come across some unexpected animals like anteaters and bulls.  But now, these {lovely} beasts have got competition in the form of the humble cloud.  I mean how many wonderful versions of cloud pillows have there been?  While I love the whole animal thing, I think I may just love the cloud a teeny bit more.  There’s something quite cuddly and comforting about the shape with it’s soft curves and ageless appeal.  So when I saw this cloud shelf and felt cloud mobile, I had to find out more.

I discovered Coccoli home, a new Spanish shop that makes not only these cloudy creations but also those fun house shelves that double up as dolls houses.  There are also some adorable raindrop wall hooks and lots of colourful wall stickers on offer.  I love the idea of lining up some of these dolls houses with the cloud mobiles hanging above them.  It would {almost} be like having a house in the clouds!  And when your childs grown out of playing with dolls houses, the shelves can be moved to any room in the house as cute storage shelves.  The Coccoli home collection is sold through their own site and also exclusively through the lovely My Little Square.

"handmade baby crib"

I was browsing Room to Bloom (a cool interiors site for kids rooms) when a crib caught my eye.  I dug further and and when I saw all these gorgeous cots, I was smitten.  Every cot is handcrafted in Spain by a family who conceive, design and then make each one.  They haven’t even opened their shop doors yet but by the looks of things to come, I am already a big fan.  These cots are so simple yet so striking and unusual.  I love the idea of the spider netting which was inspired by the thought of facing your fears.  Called the PEPE crib, I’m also loving the teal and orange colour combo.

"handmade spanish crib"

This one is called the THEO crib and it has bags of rustic charm.  I can picture this crib feeling at home in any setting from modern to vintage.

"circus themed baby crib"

This is the CIRKUS crib which is still a work in progress.  They plan to paint it red and white and I can’t wait to see the finished article.  In addition to cribs, this Spanish family will also be offering other kids furniture like a pretty butterfly adorned screen but that’s all they’ve revealed so far.  Their collection is called xo-in my room and I just can’t wait till they launch their store to see everything on offer.

Bobo Choses: Always cool

"bobo choses spring summer 2012"

I love the Spanish kids clothing brand that is Bobo Choses.  I’ve shared their collections before and this latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection is another winner.  Their clothes are playful and fun and above all are very easy to wear.  This season the bicycle print makes a comeback but you’ve also got the ever so sweet new whale and pineapple prints.  One of my favourite pieces is the wave skirt that comes in sunny yellow, mint green and a few more colours.  I was wondering how best to describe this skirt and the word ‘happy’ kept popping in to my head.  So that’s what I’ll call it… a happy skirt that will make you smile when you see your bambino wearing it.  There’s lots of cool stuff for boys and babies too including funky tees, vests and sweatshirts and the cutest all in ones for the littlest ones.  Bobo Choses have also started a small home line including some lovey tapestry rugs for kids which I featured a short while ago as they’re distinctive, much like the rest of what they do.  To view the entire Spring Summer 2012 collection head to Bobo Choses where you can buy or you can get a lot of the collection over at Little Fashion Gallery

"kids room tapestry rugs"Bobo Choses is a super cool kiddy clothes brand from sunny Spain and I’m a huge fan.  I’ve brought you their collections before and I’ve since discovered their home collection where they’ve got some funky rugs and chairs on offer.  I’m especially loving the rugs, many of which are playground themed and then there’s also the lovely camping themed one.  The little childlike illustrations of the swings, slides and see-saws are just adorable as are the colour combo’s especially the burnt orange colour which features on many of the rugs.  These tapestry rugs are hand made in India and Peru and would look cool not just as rugs but also as wall hangings in a kids space.  Bobo Choses have now got an online store so head there to check out their home wares as well as their trendy clothes.

"European newborn baby clothes"

I visited Playtime Paris on the weekend.  Playtime is a trade show packed with beautiful kiddy designers mostly from Europe and some from the US.  What a feast for the eyes Playtime was.  One of my favourite finds for newborn babies was Pequeno Tocon from Spain.  They make clothes for ‘the smallest ones in the house’… clothes for 0 to 3 months old.  The offerings are to die for.  When I spotted them I couldn’t take my eyes off them and I inspected each item they had on display.  Really simple but stunning and elegant little pieces in whites, sands, soft greys and some dusty pinks too.  They look beautifully made and if you give it as a gift to a new mama, she’s sure to love you forever.  There are a few outfits by Pequeno Tocon available over at Orfeo Design otherwise head to their own site and drop them a line.

P.S. Have you seen Mi.le bebe… another fabulous Spanish baby collection?

"spanish baby clothes"

I love to bring you goodies from France as the French really do get style and create some of the loveliest kiddy products I’ve ever seen.  But there is another European country that has become a hot bed for design and that’s Spain.  So, I’ve been seeking out some Spanish design to share with you and one of my favourite finds is mi.le bebe.  They make clothes for 0-2 year olds that have been inspired by the soft Mediterranean breeze and the glorious beaches of the Med.  On offer are onesies and cardi’s in fine knits and cottons, all beautifully co-ordinated in subtle colours and made with the greatest attention to detail.  I’m loving the belt/ribbon feature that looks so adorable on many of the baby outfits.  I just wish I’d discovered them when my bambino was a little baby… maybe it’s time for baby no.2?!  Visit mi.le bebe to see all their beautiful offerings.  The site looks like it’s not yet complete as they have yet to update their stockists page but you can always drop them a line or visit their showroom if you happen to be in Barcelona.

P.S. Have you entered our fab giveaway where you can win $100 voucher?
