Here are some beautiful vintage kids rooms to inspire you today. The floral wallpapers, the vintage beds, the little pompoms and garlands all come together to create spaces that are so charming. While I love them all, my favourite is the second one with that gorgeous wallpaper and the almost faded Autumnal colour scheme. Vintage rooms don’t get much prettier than these, don’t you think?
Boys rooms don’t have to be dull and samey. I have seen many that are so I went on the hunt for some that are anything but boring. I think a vintage touch in a kids room brings extra charm and character so I’ve selected 3 boys rooms all of which have some wonderful vintage magic:
Each room has so much charm and creativity and while they’re all vintage inspired, each one is so different. I love the little touches in all the rooms like the vintage lockers in the second room and the vintage games used as wall art in the third room. The first room has an almost Moroccan looking bedside table which is very cool too. With a little creativity and imagination, it’s possible to have a very unique boys room too, don’t you think?
I have a huge soft spot for vintage goodies especially when they’re as unique as these offerings. As you may know, I’m a big fan of the poetic French kids vintage store called Les Petit Bohemes which I’ve featured before and now I’ve discovered a second similar store called Desaccord. The two stores are definitely connected but have different offerings and today I want to share the wonderful world of Desaccord… a world filled with whimsy and quirk, one that is unique and original and full of vintage treasures for kids. Pictured above is a kids space using furniture and toys from Desaccord and what a wonderful room it is.
Those industrial sofa benches, that crochet light, those quirky circus animals, that vintage dolls pram… what’s not to love?! There is not a piece in this magical shop that I don’t wish to own. I really don’t know where they find this stuff but what I do know is that each and every piece is a one off and so unusual. Desaccord is very much on my list of the most covetable vintage shops ever.
I’m always on the lookout for unusual kids rooms; spaces that have been put together with bags of style and imagination. Today I wanted to share 3 rooms that are seriously colourful but always very tasteful. A lot of bold and bright colours have been thrown together to create amazing spaces, full of fun and creativity. There are no rules here, there are no limits to colours and there is definitely no matching but the rooms are a treat for the eyes and also a treat for their super lucky inhabitants:
While browsing Apartment Therapy, I was suddenly hit with this burst of colour which made me stop and take a look. This room screams colour; every possible shade you can think of is part of this room. Bold patterns and prints and even more colour in the form of toys and art come together to create a retro inspired space so inviting and so perfect for a little kid.
This room is full of vintage wallpapers in a range of shades from blue to pink to purple and more. Then you’ve got red, orange and yellow thrown in to the mix in the form of toys and accessories. It does look pretty amazing, don’t you think? I found this at the cool vintage store that is Retrovilla.
Even though this girls room uses white as a backdrop, there is plenty of vibrant colour in the space. I love the clashing pink and red tutu’s as well as the colourful crochet bed covers that all add to the charm of this space. I spotted this room over at The boo and the boy.
Vintage nurseries really float my boat like no other style of nursery decor. I’m not sure why but I think it may have something to do with the freedom to mix and match as you please. There is no right or wrong, there are no rules, no colour restrictions; it’s just about you and your creativity. And besides, no two rooms will ever look the same. I often seek out vintage baby rooms to share with you and today I’ve found 3 that are un-missable:
I love everything about this room… the colours, the eclectic wall pictures, the gorgeous pom poms and the DIY feel. The pallet bed is in fact made by the parents of the lucky baby girl whose room it is. I found this room over at Apartment Therapy.
A completely different look for this nursery but still very much vintage inspired. Created by a Dutch mama called Nina Invorm, this room is full of vintage treasures from toys to clothes to wallpaper. It’s a happy, bright, cheerful room that looks beautiful too.
Much more muted with an almost minimalistic vibe, this vintage nursery is another beauty. I love the exposed brick and the completely unexpected black leather chair. This nursery is by Oeuf NYC, the makers of beautiful nursery furniture and more.
When I spotted this vintage nursery I was besotted. There’s so much going on that you don’t know where to look but it all comes together somehow. To me it looks like some kind of an enchanting, mystical forest with all the deep green and the quirky vintage characters and toys dotted around the room. What a fun space for any kiddo. I’m loving the leafy knitted detail around the cot bars and the vintage wallpaper used on the changing table/cabinet. This room is so unusual, so captivating, so magical. It’s been put together by the mama and papa in question with a lot of attention to detail and huge amounts of creativity. I just love it! I come across lots of images of fabulous kids rooms and while I like many of the styles, my favourite decor style is vintage. I love the freedom, creativity and the ‘no rules’ aspect of vintage kids rooms. Mix and match different pieces as you please just like in the 2nd image where even the 2 beds are different and it works so well. There are no rules on colour either, the bolder and brighter the better as in the 3rd image where you have fuchsia and red together. And best of all no 2 rooms will ever be alike so you’ll definitely end up with something very unique. I chose these 3 rooms as I love them all for their individuality and their ability to inspire. And of course if you choose a vintage style, decorating your kids room won’t cost you much as you can scour garage sales or even your own loft and find pieces that you can throw together.
