"Children's birthday cards"

I’m really not feeling the love for kids birthday cards at the mo.  There’s nothing wrong with them but after a while they all seem samey and boring (snore).  But on the weekend I stumbled across Ask Alice, a little store buried deep in the Australian corner of the internet and boy, did I like!  Ask Alice doesn’t stop at making wow birthday cards, they also make gift tags, notebooks and postcards, all with bags of style and beauty.  Apart from the super graphics, it’s the style of paper used that really bring these stationary bits to life.  I could buy it all… if you’ve been reading regularly you’ll know that I’m a bit of a stationery fiend.  The cards cost AUD20 for a set of 5 (isn’t the whale one a cutie?!), the gift tags are AUD15 for 6 and the notebooks are AUD18.  Ask Alice ships to the UK from AUD3.10.

If beautiful notebooks are your thing, don’t miss the Darling Clementine ones.

"cool nursery decor"

"cool kids furniture"What a fun-tastic piece of play furniture!  Any kid lucky enough to have this adorning their play space, can you please invite me round, pretty please?  I spotted this over at Kickcan and Konkers, a blog written by a mama with a keen eye for beautiful things… my kinda mama.  I loved it so much, I just had to share.  Made in Poland, this cool toy, seat, animal (call it what you will) will take your kidlet’s room from play ground to play heaven.  And it’s not just the fun factor I’m adoring, but it’s a real looker too.  To get your hands on this, you’ll need to head to Mukaki but you’ll need to contact them for prices and details as there isn’t too much info on the site.  Go have a look and prepare to be in want!

"vintage baby cot by laurette deco"

Vintage baby furniture is oh so charming.  And none more so than this vintage inspired cot on wheels.  By the French Laurette Deco, this cot has mountains of style and just oozes charm.  And the colours… soft yet impactful, muted yet bold and simply beautiful.  Luckily I’m not in the cot market cos choosing one would be just too hard.   But whichever one tickles your fancy, you just can’t go wrong.  And being a cot on wheels, it’s rather handy to move your bambino around, especially in the super early (sleepless) days and nights.  Any nursery with this cot is guaranteed to have the wow factor.  This Roulotte cot is available from Bobo Kids in London.  They’re not yet online but there’s always the good ol’ telephone.  You can also check  this beauty out at Laurette Deco where it costs €795 but you’ll have to brush up on your French skills.  If you’re looking to splash out on your nursery, then this is a must have… vintage baby cots just don’t get much hotter than this!

"painted fish plates"

When I spotted these fish plates I just couldn’t wait to share.  They’re so cool (in a fishy kind’a way!).  I’m loving the simple black hand painted illustrations against the cool white.  Utterly uncomplicated, but then great design usually is.  And their lovely looks may even make the kids eat their greens (not really, but I dream).  They’re made in Barcelona by Susana Del Bano who also creates the most wonderful illustrations for kids.

"Clover NY Francis Bubble"

What a stunner this baby bubble outfit is!  With it’s vintage inspired looks and luscious tomato red colour,  it’s a guaranteed stand out from the crowd piece.  Made by Clover NY, a company which was born after an inspirational trip to India.  They’ve got lots of lovelies on offer, but for me this Francis bubble playsuit has got to be the loveliest.  The simple white stitching detail and the white buttons against the brightest of reds is uber smart.  Put your bambino in it and you’ll be sure to get admiring glances galore.  You can get your hands on this delectable number at Sweet William, a US store that ships abroad.  The Clover NY Francis bubble playsuit costs $44 with shipping at $14.

"KLT works soft toys for babies"

Ooh… the colours, the bold fabrics, the little characters all together are making my excitement levels shoot through the roof!  I love discovering a super creative mama and that’s just what today is about.  KLT: works is the label of Kristin Loffer Theiss, an American mama of one.  She makes the yummiest looking soft toys, mobiles, cushions and more.  And her formula for creating such beauties: everything’s made by hand with lots of heart and bags of passion.  A winning formula if you ask me!  Back to these little soft toys, each character comes with a little expression (have you seen the wise owl?) and gigantic eyes in colours so hot, I could cry!  The soft toys cost between $25 and $40 and shipping is $15 (to the UK but of course cheaper to the US).  Check out Kristin’s creations at KLT: works and prepare to be wowed.

*KLT: works spotted at Spunky Sprout.
