"hand knitted baby clothes to buy UK""hand knitted childrens clothes""buy knitted baby clothes uk""hand knitted baby clothes uk""knitted kids clothes uk"

I’ve always been a huge fan of hand knitted baby and kids clothes and these ones are my latest obsession.  Not trying to be fashionable or trendy, these are charming clothes made by hand and made to last through generations.  I’m lucky enough to have a mum-in-law who knits for Anya so I have bags full of baby knits that I’m saving for the next generation.  But if I didn’t, I know I would invest in some timeless classic pieces like these, that will never go out of style.  These knitted baby and kids clothes by Hambro & Miller currently go from 0 to 4 years but will soon go up to eight years and there’s even a homewares range coming soon.  All British made with love, the collection is quite special, don’t you think?

"quick makeup for busy mums"

A few weeks ago, I went for a make-up consultation with Fre-ya Barker at Fenwicks Bond St.  I wanted to try a few new beauty  products so rather than go from counter to counter at a department store, I thought it would be so much easier to go to one place where you are not restricted to any one brand.  Fre-ya is an independent make-up artist who is not tied to any brand and so she uses a very broad range.  She creates a look for you based on what you’re looking for and her entire fee (£50) is redeemable against products.

I got to try a whole lot of make-up some of which was fantastic but the stand-out product of the day for me was this Stila 10-in-1 illuminating beauty balm.  Applied over clean , moisturised skin, the second I had it on I noticed a very visible difference in my skin.  My skin tone was more even, my skin looked brighter and fresher and overall I was very impressed.  Even though the balm is coloured, it doesn’t have any colour once applied to the skin.  It can be used on its own or under foundation/tinted moisturiser.  This is my new go to product for when I need a very quick fix and don’t have time to layer on loads of make-up.

As I mentioned a while ago, I’m not heavily in to make-up on a daily basis but I do love a product that really works, saves me time and makes me look and feel good.  In the mornings, especially during school time, like every other mum I’m busy getting life organised so I don’t have bags of time to spend on make-up.  Now I see myself applying this each morning with a dash of blush and spot of lip gloss for the school run.  All done in under three minutes.  This Stila illuminating beauty balm is just the thing for me and any mum who needs a quick skin brightner especially when time is of the essence.

Have you tried it?  What do you think?

A twin baby nursery

"boy girl shared nursery ideas twins"

I recently came across  a new nursery furniture range from Spain and I loved the modern lines and colourful accents.  The range consists of cribs like the ones pictured above, chests of draws in a range of sizes, striped teepees and more.  The nursery furniture has a contemporary vibe with unexpected little details like the angled legs and of course the cool colour accents.  I chose my two favourite colours to share but there are many more including a beautiful wood and white one.  This furniture is the the creation of one of my favourite Barcelona based shops for kids – if you are ever in Barcelona, do check out Nobodinoz but otherwise they are online too.

Rather than just show you the furniture, I thought it would be fun to create a baby nursery mood board and for a change I decided to go for a shared baby boy and girl nursery space – maybe for boy and girl twins.  Here’s where you’ll find all the stuff:

1.  mountain tops wallpaper | 2. pink, white and yellow pom poms  | 3.  fruit posters | 4.  bird mobile | 5. grey baby rabbit lamp | 6. brown bambi lamp | 7.  coloured wooden chests of drawers | 8. colourful flag garlands (these exact colours are no longer available but you can get similar)| 9.  wooden baby cribs with coloured base | 10. high chair with changeable inner seat | 11. baby quilts and bed set | 12. toy storage baskets | 13. floral print star cushion | 14.  fox and koala soft toy

Just start…

"start making those dreams come true"Do you have a project that you’ve been putting off?  Have you been waiting for the right time?  I’ve had a project in mind for months and I kept finding reasons not to do it.  The reasons ranged from time constraints to fear of failure (if I’m completely honest) and everything in between.  I’ve realised if you put your mind to it, you can find one million excuses not to do something.  And that’s exactly why I was stuck.

Then I came across this quote and it really resonated with me.  I realised that I had been creating obstacles for myself and there really was no reason not to start.  Yes, it may not work but I won’t know that till I’ve tried.  And after all isn’t it better to have tried and failed than to regret never trying?  Yes, time is an issue but I also believe you can make time for something you truly want.  With hard work and dedication to my project, I pictured where I could be in one years time and that spurred me on greatly.  And finally one of the best ways to make yourself do something – tell people about it!  Simple.  So I have started telling friends and I’ve now told all of you!  I can’t wait to share more with you soon.  Watch this space!

Have you been putting off a dream?  What will motivate you to start?  I’d love to hear what’s stopping you from going after it because chances are whatever it is, can be overcome.

Have a wonderful weekend full of making your dreams come true x

"tocoto vintage for kids Uk"

Do you know Tocoto Vintage?  If not, you need to check them out.  From Spain, they have been making the most adorable clothes for babies for a few years.  For the first time they have expanded their range to include clothes for 2 to 8 year olds and this new Autumn Winter collection is understated, stylish and has their signature vintage touch.  The clothes come in beautiful muted colours, soft fabrics with chic little details that look great but are also very cosy and comfy to wear for boy or girl.

I’m loving those charcoal grey ‘tomboy’ overalls because I think every little girl needs a little dose of tomboy style once in a while.  And also that grey sweater with the adorable ruffle trim.  Amongst all the charcoal is that pinky-plum colour and some very deep midnight blues all coming together to create a gorgeous colour palette for the Winter months ahead.  Even though I never look forward to the colder months, I can’t help but get excited about stylish Winter fashion like this.

"indigo clothes for women and kids"

Last evening we saw a rainbow and the colour that really stood out for me was indigo.  It’s such a rich and striking colour that you can’t help but take notice of it.  I think it’s a great colour to wear for for most skin tones and works so well with so many other colours.  Take that colour block kids skirt – how stunning does the pink look against the indigo?  Here are a few beautiful indigo clothes and accessories that I came across for mama and baby:

1.  pompom brooch for girls | 2.  floaty jumpsuit | 3.  indigo tinted sunglasses for women | 4.  graphic onesie | 5.  flared colour block girls skirt | 6.  sequined blue converse boots for women

"6 of the best black and white cushions for kids"

A couple of months ago I rounded up some of the best kids cushions around and many of my readers really enjoyed it so I thought I would do another round-up.  Today though it’s about monochrome black and white cushions.  I’m a big fan of cushions and believe you can never have too many.  I love the idea of using a whole lot of black and white cushions in a kids room but if you like colour too, you can of course mix it up.  Here are 6 black and white cushions that I’m loving at the moment:

1. sleepy head cushion | 2. polar bear cushion | 3.  smiley cloud cushion | 4.  miffy cushion | 5.  panda bear cushions | 6. mountain range cushion

"free summer workshops for kids London"A few weeks ago I attended a bloggers networking event at the National Portrait Gallery.  I got to meet some inspiring bloggers and I also found out that the National Portrait Gallery has loads of free Summer events, workshops and activities for kids.  Most of these events are held on Thursdays, Fridays and the weekend.  So last Friday we decided to check one out.  We attended a clay modelling workshop where kids get to pick a portrait from the gallery, draw it and then create a clay sculpture of it.

"free Summer activities for kids in London"

Even though the workshop was aimed at the kids, I totally got in to the clay modelling part and really enjoyed it too.  And I wasn’t the only mum there that was almost taking over their child’s clay!  Anya wasn’t crazy about the drawing bit but the clay modelling was a huge hit with her.  The clay is cool and soft to the touch so it was lovely to feel and it was really fun to be able to mold and shape it and see a head and shoulders emerging.  I’ll admit our end result looked a bit frightening but we had so much fun making it.

All the free kids activities on offer at the National Portrait Gallery are arty and creative which is why we were drawn to them in the first place.  The clay modelling workshop is only one of many – others include colour workshops, using loom bands to create portraits, drawing sessions and more.  Each year, as I discover more and more of the wonderful free events for kids in London, I feel so lucky that we can take advantage of these.  Have you discovered any?  Please do share in the comments so that others can try them too.

"soft gallery kids summer jumpsuit""summer girls jumpsuit""scandinavian fashion for kids""scandinavian clothes for girls"

Jumpsuits seem to be all the rage at the moment and I’m really loving this Summer trend.  Easy to wear, comfy and they look so cool too.  My favourtie jumpsuit purchase this season has been this super soft animal-esque print one for Anya.  In muted deep plums and pinks almost bordering on brown, the colours are unusual and the style is fitted yet relaxed.  It’s the perfect Summer outfit to ‘jump’ around in and Anya loves wearing it.  Now I’m on the lookout for a jumpsuit for me before this glorious Summer is over.  Would you wear a jumpsuit?  Any suggestions for a cool and flattering adult one?

"misha lulu Autumn Winter 2014"

Do you remember Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys?  I was a big fan of the Nancy Drew books and I remember my brother being crazy about The Hardy Boys.  I loved the spirit of adventure and what (at the time) seemed to be the most exciting mysteries ever.  I think I even wanted to be her at one stage!  Now, decades later this new Fall/Winter collection inspired by the whole Nancy Drew era has me smitten.

"retro childrens clothes"

Looking at this collection, you can’t help but think spies and mysteries, detectives and top-secret missions from a by-gone era.  How fun is that for any little kid?  With a strong retro vibe and beautiful Autumnal colours, this latest collection is so playful and charming.  I love everyday clothes like these that allow children to pretend play and transport themselves in to their very own make believe world.

"misha lulu autumn winter 14"

Inspired by their daughters obsession with spies and mysteries, this husband and wife team created this newest collection.  I’m a big fan of Misha Lulu already but this latest collection is my favourite!
