I’m always looking for creative and interesting ways to refresh a room or to give it a new lease of life without spending much. One easy way of doing this is to paint the walls a different colour or wallpaper the room or even wallpaper just one wall in the room. Or you could simply move the furniture around the room, add a few new cushions or swap out the bedding and it will instantly look quite different.

Recently though I came across some really amazing painted floors and thought it was such a fun way to refresh a room and give it a new look. This idea could work in any room where you don’t have carpet but I think it works especially well in a kids room. Depending on your interior style, you can choose to be as bold as you dare or as subtle as you want. And the best part is that with a little effort you can keep updating the look as your child grows up and their tastes change.

This can be something elaborate and involved or something very simple like a one pot main. The key is that it should be something you can make easily and for different people with different cooking abilities this will differ hugely. Don’t be tempted to try new dishes because that will almost certainly end up being stressful!
