This is such a cute new idea or at least one I haven’t come across before. Karolina from Poland makes little DIY kits that allow you to make your babies first shoes. How sweet is that? And once your baby outgrows the shoes, you can keep them as a wonderful memory. These First Baby Shoe kits would be such a fun and unusual present for any new parents or parents to be.

Planning those little gifts…
October 15, 2013
It feels a little early to talk Christmas but in this house we’ve learned our lesson and realise we need to think ahead. Not only because of Christmas but also because it’s my daughter Anya’s birthday just a little before Christmas. Which means more gifts, a party and a very busy time for me. This December we’ve decided that we’ll give her a big gift for her birthday and then just little stocking fillers for Christmas. My usual style is to go tearing around at the last minute but this year I am determined be a lot more organised and so, I started buying her stocking fillers about a month ago (I know, I can’t believe it myself!). Also this helps spread the costs over a few months and I don’t end up getting desperate and buying stuff just for the sake of it. I thought I would share my finds in case they gave you some ideas and inspire you to start planning ahead if you’re a last minute type too:
1. Bow hair clips… 2. Sparkly bangles (from India but you can get similar at Accessorize)… 3. Elephant placemat… 4. Sonny Angels
A modern baby carrier {+ a giveaway}…
October 14, 2013
Baby wearing was one of those things that passed me by. I did briefly look in to it but found that some carriers were a bit too girly so my husband would never use it and others just didn’t look easy enough to put on by myself. With all the other stuff you have to deal with when you first have a baby, I soon forgot about getting a carrier. Looking back I can think of so may occasions where one would have been a life saver. Like the many times I traveled on my own to India. I came to dread the whole security scenario where I had to take off my shoes, coat and then take my baby out of the pram and hold her while trying to fold the pram and carry the hand luggage and all the time wishing for an extra pair of hands. I think it would have been very useful around the house too. When Anya was crying I could have easily carried her and still had my hands free but instead, I had to stop whatever I was doing and soothe her before getting back to my chores.
So today I wanted to introduce you to the stylish Budu baby carrier and I’m giving one away to one lucky reader (read on for the giveaway details). The budu baby carrier probably would have been the one for me had it been available at the time. I love the whole clean, modern vibe and I know my husband would have happily worn it too. Apart from the looks, the carrier is made of natural soft bamboo fabric, vegetable tanned leather straps and looks super easy to wear. Even if you’re past the baby years, this would make a great gift for any new or expectant mum. The Budu baby carrier is the creation of Danielle, a model, a mum and now a designer too. In addition to the carrier, Danielle has just added a beautiful nappy bag to her collection. Even if you’re not the lucky winner, as a special bonus, Danielle is offering all my readers a 20% discount on any carrier. Just use the code: ebabee at checkout.
The giveaway: The winner will get one Budu baby carrier in the colour of their choice which is valued at approximately £175.
To enter: Simply like ebabee and budu baby on Facebook and then leave a comment below to say you have done so. If you already like the pages, then just leave a comment. All 3 things are needed. This giveaway is now closed. Thank you to everyone who entered. Congrats to Faiblessed our lucky winner!
One entry per person and this competition is open to all my readers worldwide. The competition closes at midnight (UK time) on Sunday 20th October 2013. Any entries after this time will not be counted. Winner will be announced on this post and on my facebook page on Tuesday 22nd October. And don’t forget, even if you don’t win all my readers can get 20% off any carrier with the code ebabee.

A playful and stylish store…
July 17, 2013

I’m loving this cute store that I just discovered. The Modern Baby was started by Suzanne, a mama who had a vision of a store full of things that would grow with your child. The Modern Baby has lots of colourful nursery and kids room decorations, bed linen, soft toys and so much more. The product styles include modern, vintage and retro and the looks are all stylish and fun. It’s probably one of the best nursery ranges I’ve come across in a UK store. I’m especially loving the way they’ve photographed their products which perfectly reflects the stores playful and stylish personality. All the products featured are sold by The Modern Baby and the beautiful styling is thanks to talented design agency Supa Frank where you can see lots more photos to drool over. While The Modern Baby is based in the UK they ship worldwide so go take a look… there’s lots to discover.

2012 Christmas gift guide: Sponsor selection
December 12, 2012
Today’s Christmas gift guide is a selection by French Blossom, my sponsors. French Blossom is a kids store started by husband and wife team Nicholas and Meriem. Even though they don’t have kids (yet), having met and lived in Paris for many years, Nicholas and Meriem were ‘inspired by the exquisite elegance and style devoted to children’s clothing, toys and decoration in France’. As Nicholas explains, ‘the idea behind French Blossom is to – ‘Celebrate French Fashion for Children,’ and to exclusively showcase chic and stylish independent French children’s designers’. So I thought this Christmas, it would be fun to ask them to choose their favourite gift ideas from their store and I also wanted to find out a bit more about how they spend their Christmas. Here’s what they said:
Let’s talk Christmas! What do you love most about it?
Family time! Its great to all gather together, have fun and relax.
What’s a typical Christmas day for you?
We wake up and see if Father Christmas has been kind to us 🙂 ! We all then sit in the living room in front of the fire and Christmas tree, opening the presents as the lovely smells of the Christmas dinner wafts in from the kitchen. After lunch we wrap up nice and warm and go for a walk to watch the annual swim in the sea. There are hundreds of brave people, many dressed up in fancy dress costumes who swim in the freezing water. Then there is a nice warm drink for everyone. We haven’t done this swim yet but maybe this year!
Is your Christmas more French or more English?
Our Christmas is British; Meriem and I always go back to the UK for Christmas. The only thing French is the wine on the table.
Anything you dislike about Christmas?
I don’t like when I have finished opening the last present, finished the wonderful turkey dinner or saying goodbye to relatives who have come over for the day
Lastly, your top 10 Christmas gifts for kids this year?
1. Circus themed baby dinner set by Mimi’Lou
2. Soft toy characters by My name is simone
3. Vintage 3D story box by Tiphaine Mangan
4. Little duck on wheels by Trousselier
5. Dreamy kids mouse mobile by Rose Miniscule
6. Pirate and treasure puzzle by Janod
7. Colourful decorative ball lights by La case de cousin paul
8. Children’s accordean by Vilac
9. Retro classic blue pedal car by Baghera
10. Story express circus by Janod
Thank you Nicholas and Meriem for sharing your Christmas traditions and gift ideas with us and I’m really curious to find out if Nicholas will do that swim this year! You’ll find all these toys and more over at French Blossom and don’t forget, my readers can still get 10% off anything that’s not on offer by using the codes EBABEES.
