"Nursery decoration hanging ornaments"I was flitting about Etsy when I spotted these little house hanging decorations.  I stopped flitting and had a closer look.  I wasn’t disappointed; these little soft house ornaments are just the sweetest things ever!  My head started whirring with nursery decoration ideas… the possibilities are many, many, many.  You could make your own mobile with these houses, hang them in a frame, hang them from the ceiling, adorn bookshelves or hang from wardrobe handles.  I’m sure all you creative mama’s out there can come up with even more exciting ways to use these sweet little houses.  These hanging nursery decorations come as a set of 10 from Syko’s Shop on Etsy.  The set of 10 costs €65 plus €8 delivery.

"Nani Marquina Roses rug"

I have been lusting after Nani Marquina rugs ever since I first laid eyes on one.  They are stun-ners of the highest order.  Infinite layers of super soft wool felt in colours and shapes inspired by nature, these rugs are fit for the feet of kings.  Not to mention the squidy, spongy-soft feet of babies. Imagine your bambino learning to walk on a Little Field of Flowers or a bed of Roses?  You guessed it, they’re my favourite 2 rugs. There’s also the Bichos Flores collection of little round rugs with child-like drawings on them which too are pretty nifty.  All the designs are offered in scrumptious colours so you can easily find one to fit in with your nursery or play room.   But they’re so hot, you might just be tempted to keep them for yourself… I would.

I love that these Nani Marquina rugs aren’t just for kids or adults though, they’re beautiful pieces that will add some va va voom to any room!  To get these rugs head to Nest where there’s a big range available in different sizes and colours.  Prices for the layered felt ones start from around £850 and go in to the thousands whereas the round kiddy ones are around £600.  No, they’re not el cheapo but design this good rarely is.  And if you happen to be richie-rich reading this, fancy buying me one?!

"childrens coat hook""contemporary kids coat hook""nursery coat hooks"Kids coat hooks or coat pegs, not something I normally give much thought to.  They’re useful, they’re practical and damn handy, especially in kiddy rooms.  Problem is, they can be a bit dull… OK, a lot dull.  Or at least that’s what I thought until I spotted these 3 hooks; they’re quirky, they’re cool, they’re fun and they’re anything but dull.  You’ve got the funky mustachioed ‘Monsieur Hook’, the 3 weird and wonderful characters called ‘Hang on to yourself hook’, and the birdy ones named ‘Birds and heart hook’.  I’m loving them all in equal measures, assuming it’s possible to feel love for childrens coat hooks!  Each one comes as a set of 3 and each set costs £44.10 plus £4.90 shipping from Made In Design.  Ooh, which one will you choose, it’s a tough choice!

P.S. Have you checked out our baby auction site yet?

"bird cage light conran shop"

Flitting about the Conran shop one day, I spotted this bird cage light so cool.  It’s such a  stand out from the crowd kind’a piece, I couldn’t take my eyes off it.  Made by the stylish Frenchies, this light cage is adorned with life-like birdies of different sizes.  And all the birdies have real feathers in the brightest of colours.  I’m loving this light for a kiddy place space, it’s quirky style will really make it quite the show-off piece and you never know, you may just have Elle Decor knocking on your door!  You can get this light at the Conran Shop where it costs £369.  Not the cheapest maybe, but sometimes unique design comes at a price. "designer kids lighting"

"kids light shade"

Kids lights:  you haven’t seen much of it featured here.  Call me fussy (you won’t be the first), but truth be told much of the kids lighting I’ve seen has been blah.  Y’know, the pinky, bluey over-cutesy kind’a stuff that makes me run for cover.  But now, I’ve discovered Seven Dandelions.  When I saw their kids light shades, I nearly sobbed!  Finally.  The kiddy lighting gods have answered my prayers.  Seven Dandelions create light shades so stylish, perfect for any kiddy space without a hint of twee-ness in sight.  Their designs are simple, modern and oh so impactful.  Based down under on the Sunshine Coast, it is the brain child of Kelly Edington and Jenny Coleman.  Respect, ladies. Seven Dandelions lights come in different sizes and cost from AUD 85.  They ship internationally,  just email first to get a quote.

P.S. Isn’t the teeny tiny green elephants one just dandy?

"Brian Yates Pip wallpaper"

I’ve been on the hunt for wallpaper for ebabee no.1’s room.  So many styles on offer equals dizzying levels of confusion.  And because I’ve made it my life’s work to hunt down the coolest kids stuff on the planet for you, well I end up in the know about wallpaper designs that most people wouldn’t have heard of (more choice, more confusion!).  Even in this state of dizzy confusion, when I saw this Pip Early Bird wallpaper in yellow, I knew it was the chosen one.  Yellow just excites me but add some turquoise to the mix and a stunning oriental-esque print, now that’s what I call a stunner!

By Brian Yates, this Pip Early Bird wallpaper has the added advantage of growing with your child.  It would be perfectly at home in any space, from baby to mama spaces, from playing to eating spaces, from sleeping to living spaces.  So if it’s in your nursery and you don’t want to change it for years to come, you don’t have to.  The less DIY the better, me thinks!  I’m planning to use in on a feature wall and I’m drooling as I picture it.  This wallpaper is a style statement, big and bold.  But there are times when something less just won’t cut it.  Head on over to Tangletree interiors where a roll costs £57.39 with £4.95 for delivery.

"flower paper lantern"

This morning I wasn’t feeling inspired.  Everything I came across just didn’t cut the (hot design) mustard that I constantly hanker after.  And then it happened… i found these and felt the magic, the excitement, the joy of a hot find.  These paper lanterns are just so pretty.  Made by Bakker Made with Love (yes that’s what they’re called) they make some fabulous accessories for kids including super shiny (pre) school bags that I’ve already drooled over.  These Bakker paper lanterns are available in colours that work so well with their floral print.  Pick the colour that works for you and hang them over your little girls play space, sleep space or any space to add a bit of wow. These pretty paper lanterns by Bakker cost €33.75 plus delivery from Little Zebra.

"K Studio pillows, wall art for kids"

Yesterday I stumbled across K Studio and it was love.  Michigan based mother and daughter create the most stylish pillows, bags and wall art.  Simplicity and minimalism are mixed with bags of charm to create quirky and cool designs.  In terms of colours, off whites and sandy beige’s dominate with fine black childlike drawings and the odd hint of orange, red and pale blue.  And their stuff isn’t just for the kids.  I can see their creations feeling perfectly at home in a kiddy space or an adult space.  Have a look and don’t miss the chap who wears his heart on his sleeve or the pretty bird pillow.  There’s also that cat pouch which would make a sweet pencil case.  I could go on but I’ll let you discover more at K Studio.  They deliver internationally and prices start from around $30 plus shipping from $10.  This mother and daughter are a class act, if you ask me.
