I have yet to meet a kid who is crazy about wearing a hat but these new ones by Oeuf NYC may be just the ticket. Part of their Autumn Winter 2013 collection, these hats and hoddies are so fun. Many are animal inspired but there are also other quirky ones like the yoda hat which is definitely a favourite of mine. All the hats and hoodies are great for adding a little bit of joy to everyday winter wear and I’m sure any kid will agree.
Oeuf NYC have a knack for creating playful yet wearable pieces that have just the right amount of cuteness. There’s lots to love about Oeuf’s new Autumn Winter 2013 collection but for me, it’s the hats and hoodies that steal the show this season.

A vintage workspace…
August 27, 2013
Next week is going to be a big week in this house as my daughter Anya starts school for the first time ever. She’s very excited by the idea of going to ‘big’ school and I am also very excited for her. But my excitement is tinged with a bit of apprehension as I feel she’s only 4 and how will she manage in big school. Of course I know she will as they all do but still the first day is going to be a huge bitter sweet moment for me. With all this talk about school I started thinking about school desks. Anya probably doesn’t need a desk yet but I found some inspiring vintage kids workspaces on pinterest that I wanted to share. I think having a vintage desk and chair adds a lot of charm and character and I’d definitely go for vintage over modern when I create a desk area for Anya. If you’re looking to set up a little workspace for your kiddo then these spaces will hopefully inspire you. My favourite is the first one but I also love the vintage desk that has been adorned with white polka dots.

This week’s picks for mama & baby… let mama prepare for Autumn with this cosy fox scarf while baby wears that fox adorned t-shirt.
Mini Zara…
August 21, 2013
When I saw this adorable new collection by Zara mini, it brought back the sweetest memories. I loved dressing my daughter in Zara mini clothes when she was a tiny baby and I think I’ve saved nearly all the outfits she had. The clothes and accessories were always very stylish but also practical and very baby-ish. They are exactly the kind of clothes you imagine a baby should wear and it looks like this latest collection is just as adorable. I also love the styling done by April and May which shows off the collection beautifully by using things like those wooden sticks that represent the stylish and understated colour palette Unfortunately my daughter is now way too big for Zara mini clothes but I still check out their collections as I love gifting things like those cute little rompers to friends with newborns.
Introducing Noeuf…
August 19, 2013
Today I want to introduce you to my newest sponsor Noeuf. Noeuf is a French boutique full of covetable things for babies and kids. There are carefully selected clothes, toys, accessories and more on offer. Whether you’re buying your new baby essentials or looking for a cool gift, you’ll find something at Noeuf. At the moment Noeuf are getting in all their new Autumn/Winter 2013 collections and from the new stuff I’m loving that tree adorned all in one by Bobo Choses. I’m also loving those cute party invitations by Barnabe Aime le Cafe. Noeuf’s selection of goodies is fun and stylish and I’m glad to have them as my newest sponsors.

A rabbit and a lion…
August 14, 2013

Wall mounted animal heads seem to have become all the rage for kids rooms. In recent months I have seen so many animal heads from cloth ones to clay ones and everything in between. Some look quite sinister to me while others look too cutesy. I really can’t decide whether I like this trend or not but there is one exception – these animal heads made purely from paper. Neither cutesy nor sinister, I like that they are just graphic forms of animals in pretty colours and most importantly I like that there are no eyes staring at you (that just creeps me out!). The bunny ones are so cute for a nursery and you can buy them from Chloe Fleury’s shop while the lion one is very cool and is a DIY project by Lille Nord.
Seesaw…
August 13, 2013
Sometimes things land in my inbox that I can’t wait to share. This is one of those times. I’m loving everything from Seesaw, a new kids brand from Spain. What immediately stood out for me in this collection is the colours and the way these colours have been mixed and matched. And of course I’ve fallen for those little knitted shorts that are so cute and playful. I think all little kids should own clothes like these. I also love that the clothes are mostly gender neutral and would look equally sweet on boy or girl. Seesaw haven’t yet launched their website but you can find out more on their facebook page.
The cutest clown and her friends…
August 12, 2013
I’m not a big fan of adult fancy dress parties. I find them a bit of a hassle but even more than that I guess if I’m honest I hate being told what to wear. But when it comes to kids fancy dress parties, I feel very differently. I never go out and buy a ready made costume because where’s the fun in that? Instead I love the challenge of putting together an outfit from my daughters existing wardrobe using a little bit of creativity and the help of a few accessories from her dressing up box. So when I came across Korean photographer Dong Sun Choo’s work on the Waddler blog, I had to find out more.
I discovered that Dong Sun Choo gets clothes from some of my favourite brands like Oeuf NYC, Wovenplay, Waddler and adds accessories from Udder, Kate Davey and many others to create fun little fancy dress outfits. He then dresses babies and little kids in these clothes and photographs them. Apart from the cute overload, I love the little outfits and some of the expressions he captures. One of my favourites is the adorable baby clown but I also love that over-sized stripey tail on that little baby boy. To see lots more photos head over to Dong Sun Choo’s blog.
Simplicity…
August 9, 2013
I’m loving these simple, ethereal, soft silhouettes by Muku who I just discovered. The muted colours, the loose shapes and that wonderful raw linen all come together so beautifully. The clothes look so comfy that I can imagine them becoming firm favourites… you know, the kind of clothes that you wear and wear till they are threadbare. Luckily Latvian based Muku also make similar clothes for mama’s so we can indulge too. Simplicity always works for me and these clothes are so simple and wearable that they’re making me want Summer to stay forever.
