"seagulls bib and baby wrap set""butterfly bib and swaddle set""clouds bib and swaddle blanket"Ketiketa is a wonderful French brand with a Nepalese twist.  They create clothes, bed linen and accessories for babies, girls and boys using traditional Nepalese fabrics and materials.  The textile in question is called ‘dumbar kumari’ named after a Nepalese princess who brought the technique of block printing back from India to Nepal in the 19th Century.  Today I’m lusting after their beautiful bib and baby wrap sets that come in an equally beautiful gift box.  I’m loving the delicate prints, the softness of the cotton voile and the elegance of the packaging.  Ketiketa have managed to marry French style with Nepalese tradition to create super elegant and chic clothes and accessories for kids.  To get these baby bib sets head to Ola Deco.

And here’s where you’ll find some more chic French baby bibs.

Colourful things…

"colourful nursery decor"

Yesterday was holi, the Indian festival of colour where you get together with friends and family and everybody smears each other with colour.  And of course there’s lots of eating and drinking and making merry!  Being Indian, I couldn’t stop thinking about the great times I’ve had in the past as holi really is one of the most fun festivals for adults but even more for kids.  So I thought about doing a ‘colourful holi’ inspired post and with that in mind, I’ve picked out 4 super colourful kiddy things that I’ve liked this week and hopefully you will too:

1.  I love these tiny little birds that can be made in to so many things like a nursery garland, a brooch, nursery decorations and much more.  These pretty birdies are from a shop called Moloco.

2.  Shiny, bright fruit and vegetable wooden spinning tops by Londji.  Sometimes it’s the traditional toys that are the most fun especially if they look as good as these.

3.  These felt baby shoes are just adorable.  I love their simple shape and the gorgeous colours.  These booties are one to make yourself and you’ll find the instructions over at Purlbee.

4.  I’ve been eyeing this colourful tassel garland for ages now.  I can just picture a bright white nursery adorned with this large stylish garland to add a splash of colour.  You’ll find this at Confetti System.

"pink food snacks for girls parties"

Ever since I laid eyes on these divinely delicious looking cakes and treats over at the lovely Paul et Paula blog, I haven’t been able to think of much else… seriously!  How good do they look?!  I love cakes and sweeties anyway (who doesn’t?) but when they look this scrumptious, I just can’t resist.  These cakes are the creation of Aline Caron, a French lady with a penchant for food, styling and photography.  These treats are part of her first cookbook called ‘Gouters Rigolos’ which means funny snacks.  Perfect for kids birthday parties or just snacky treats for a kiddy get together, these yummies are full of fun and oh so beautiful too.  For me, food should appeal to all the senses and these do that in abundance.  You can find more pictures on Aline’s blog My little Fabric or if you want the recipes, Amazon sell her book ‘Goûters Rigolos’

"naturl wood nursery decor"

I love natural wood for a nursery but I think it’s best to compliment wood with a hint of colour.  With that in mind I thought it would be fun to put together a few nursery decor items with a big dose of natural wood and an accent colour.  I chose pale blue as the accent colour as I think it works well with the wood and it’s great for boy or girl but of course you can choose many other colours that’ll work for both.  I do love the softness of the blue against the solidness of the wood and I think the overall effect is quite cool and calming.  Here’s more details on all the stuff I chose:

1.  Pale blue Harlequin wallpaper by Ferm Living

2.  Wooden collectors house shelf by Kids on Roof

3.  Nua bubble round bamboo storage by Red Edition

4.  Deer boy art print by Honeycup

5.  Flag nursery garland by Colette Bream

6.  Wooden robin crib by Oeuf NYC

7.  Child’s wood and felt chair by Bookhou

8.  Flap ear rattle by Lucky Boy Sunday

9.  White felt baby slippers by Pia Wallen

Here are a few more nursery decor ideas… a sunny yellow nursery and a chic black & white nursery.

"cute handmade dolls"

I’ve got an ever growing obsession with hand made dolls.  How can I resist when I come across such cuties like these?!  I found these ones over at a shop called Pretty Little Things.  Created by Californian designer and textile artist Lori Marie, these hand made cloth dolls are so adorable.  Lori also makes other sweet little things like these elephant garlands, little girly pouches and wallets and some cool feather crowns for dressing up fun.  All these delightful goodies come in bright and bold colours and would add a splash of fun to any little girls room.  Head to Lori Marie’s shop to find these dolls and all the other cuties!

"sustainable vintage clothing for girls"

The beautiful Nixie Clothing came to my attention last year and I’ve been meaning to share it ever since then.  Nixie Clothing is a London based clothing brand for girls that uses only vintage and sustainable fabrics in the creation of their clothes.  The materials are sourced locally and all the clothes are made in London.  Nixie Clothing says their aim ‘is to respect and protect the environment, to be sustainable… to reduce re-use and recyle in all aspects of their business’.

"vintage sustainable clothing for girls"

The clothes are quirky and very unique.  In the Spring /Summer 2012 collection you’ll find lots of dresses, tops and shorts made out of gorgeous vintage silk scarves and coats made from vintage cotton.  Most of the pieces are one-off’s making them even more special.  I love the cuts and designs on offer that combine vintage styles with modern twists and also combine contrasting prints and fabrics.  Nixie clothing is definitely a one of a kind brand and everything about their creations is beautiful and original.

"star shapes nursery garland"

I’m extremely partial to a beautiful nursery garland.  I’ve been looking out for one for my daughter’s room but the problem is choosing just one. I’ve come across so many beauties that I want them all.  Today I’m drooling over these stunning ones by Les Petites Emplettes.  It’s their simplicity that makes them so desirable and stylish.  Uncomplicated silhouettes of stars, trains and sheep in plain grey felt make for nursery garlands so beautiful.  I’m thinking the sheep one may be the one for my daughter.  For me, less is always more and this is a perfect example of that philosophy.  Visit Les Petites Emplettes where you’ll find these garlands and lots more kids stuff that is super simple but super stylish or there’s a little selection at Smallable.com

Happy crochet toys

"crochet animal toys"

I had a post all planned for today but when I came across these adorable crochet toys and soft toys, I ditched the planned post in favour of these lovelies.  I’m a bit crochet mad anyway and these happy, bright and colourful toys just brought a big smile to my face as soon as I spotted them.  They’re by a Danish company called Small Stuff and besides the crochet ones, I’m also loving the other soft toys… the spotted baby dinosaurs are just too cute and there are also some super sweet dinosaurs on skates which you’ll find on their site.  These toys would make great gifts for a newborn and I’m sure the mama in question would be pleased too.  You can visit Small Stuff to see more of these toys; their site is currently only in Danish but they’re working on an English version.

Bobo Choses: Always cool

"bobo choses spring summer 2012"

I love the Spanish kids clothing brand that is Bobo Choses.  I’ve shared their collections before and this latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection is another winner.  Their clothes are playful and fun and above all are very easy to wear.  This season the bicycle print makes a comeback but you’ve also got the ever so sweet new whale and pineapple prints.  One of my favourite pieces is the wave skirt that comes in sunny yellow, mint green and a few more colours.  I was wondering how best to describe this skirt and the word ‘happy’ kept popping in to my head.  So that’s what I’ll call it… a happy skirt that will make you smile when you see your bambino wearing it.  There’s lots of cool stuff for boys and babies too including funky tees, vests and sweatshirts and the cutest all in ones for the littlest ones.  Bobo Choses have also started a small home line including some lovey tapestry rugs for kids which I featured a short while ago as they’re distinctive, much like the rest of what they do.  To view the entire Spring Summer 2012 collection head to Bobo Choses where you can buy or you can get a lot of the collection over at Little Fashion Gallery

"kids room art by Stefania Manzi"

There is so much wonderful kids room art out there and my latest find is by the Italian illustrator Stefania Manzi.  I love her style.  Her drawings are childlike without being cutesy, the colours are soft and I even love the paper that the art is printed on.  It all comes together to make for super sweet art which would work for a baby nursery or for a toddler room or even a play space for older kids.  I think this stuff is just adorable.  You can find out more about Stefania Manzi on her site where you’ll also find a link to her shop.
