"European accessories for girls and babies"I love a good accessory or two.  My current accessory obsession is clutch bags for me and necklaces for Anya.  Today I came across these super chic ones by Italian Minimu.  Not only are there accessories for girls, but also such adorable stuff for babies.  Those bibs… so gorgeous!  And that yellow polka dotted cloth necklace; I could do with one.  Minimu also have some beautiful clothes in their new Autumn Winter 2013 collection which are definitely worth checking out.

"beautiful baby sleeping bags"Some years ago while holidaying in Marrakesh, I went to a fun restaurant for dinner with my husband.  I don’t remember too much about the food or decor as it wasn’t that memorable but I will never forget that woman who walked in.  Tall, lean and statuesque with chocolate coloured skin, wearing a very large brimmed hat and a dramatic outfit.  There was a moment of silence as all heads turned to look at her.  She wasn’t the most beautiful woman I’ve seen, nor the prettiest but she was definitely unique and the entire package from head to toe was jaw droppingly striking so you couldn’t help but stare (think Grace Jones).  And that is how I felt when I first saw this new collection of nursery bedding by Anatology on Peggy’s inspiring blog.  Bold, graphic and head turning-ly striking, there’s no holding back here and that’s why this collection really stands out like that statuesque stunner!"baby sleeping bag french""french baby sleeping bags"Anatology is the creation of Delphine Miquel, a French mama and designer who has obviously got a unique aesthetic sense.  All her creations are made in France from soft, natural materials that are perfect for a baby’s skin.  Of course this collection has bags of style, of course it has loads of visual appeal but what I love most is that there are no half measures here.  This collection was designed to make heads turn and it does without apology.  This is Delphine’s first collection called ‘Graphic Jungle’ and and I just can’t wait to see what comes next.  If this is the benchmark for all her collections then all I can say is wow!

A cool cape and more…

January 21, 2013

"dress up cape and mask"Dressing up is such a big thing in this household.  Soon after my daughter wakes up each morning, she heads to her dressing up box and pulls out an outfit.  These days it’s a fairy so if you come by my home at breakfast time you’ll be confronted with me eating breakfast with a fairy!  I’m always looking for things to add to her dress-up box and lately she has been showing interest in wearing a cape.  We’ve used blankets and shawls to make pretend capes but I thought I would also have a look to see if there were any new and exciting cape and mask sets out there to share with you.  I’m really not a fan of the synthetic stuff you get in abundance so I always look around for natural materials.  Just as I was about to begin my search I remembered the above image that I had bookmarked a while ago and I knew I had to share.  What a great photo and a lovely cape and mask set.

"cool bibs and bloomers"These pictures are by Udder, an Australian brand of kids clothing, toys, and accessories.  While it was the top image that first drew me in, I also found some cool clothes that look very wearable and playful.  The styles are simple and summery {as it’s summer in Australia} and often complemented with fun little touches.  I really like the clothes but it’s their accessories that I’m totally in love with.  The nappy clutches, the cape and mask sets, the bloomers, the bibs, the metal mobiles are all just too cool.  And that picture at the top… isn’t it just the best?

Before I end, I just wanted to say sorry for the lack of posts last week.  I’m away on holiday and the internet isn’t the best.  I shall try and post more regularly this week but as I’m still away I can’t promise.  I am however enjoying the sunshine in the southern hemisphere and thought it would be nice to share a summery post even thought I know it’s snowing in the UK and the US.  Besides I don’t think I could wait any longer to share this wonderful brand!

mama & baby…

January 3, 2013

"linen baby bib"This week’s picks for mama & baby… let mama decorate with these smooth matte ceramic bowls while baby wears that linen bib with contrasting straps.

"seagulls bib and baby wrap set""butterfly bib and swaddle set""clouds bib and swaddle blanket"Ketiketa is a wonderful French brand with a Nepalese twist.  They create clothes, bed linen and accessories for babies, girls and boys using traditional Nepalese fabrics and materials.  The textile in question is called ‘dumbar kumari’ named after a Nepalese princess who brought the technique of block printing back from India to Nepal in the 19th Century.  Today I’m lusting after their beautiful bib and baby wrap sets that come in an equally beautiful gift box.  I’m loving the delicate prints, the softness of the cotton voile and the elegance of the packaging.  Ketiketa have managed to marry French style with Nepalese tradition to create super elegant and chic clothes and accessories for kids.  To get these baby bib sets head to Ola Deco.

And here’s where you’ll find some more chic French baby bibs.

"linen baby bibs, blankets and quilts"

Sometimes there are things that land in my inbox that I can’t wait to share.  Tulip + i is just one of those things.  It’s a little Canadian boutique selling baby blankets, bibs, clothes, pillows and more, all made of beautiful washed linen.  The colours are muted with soft greys, purples, pinks and browns complementing each other wonderfully well.  None of the stuff is cutesy in anyway, just simple designs with bags of soft and subtle style.  Many of the cushions have a tiny little animal printed on them in white or yellow, the baby blankets and place mats have some Italian text on them while the bibs have contrasting coloured straps.  It’s these little touches and details that make Tulip + i so special.  Natalie, the mama in question and the designer, definitely has an eye for beauty.  Inspired by life’s little pleasures, her collection evokes a sense of happiness, calm and an overwhelming desire to touch it all!  Head over to Tulip + i to see all the goodies and they’re offering 20% off everything till 19th December 2011.

"Organic cotton elephant bib"

Baby bibs can often be a bit too cutesy for my liking.  But this elephant bib is super cute without an ounce of cutesy-ness.  Just the way I like it.  The plain colours with a simple, child-like elephant illustration make for a bib that’s sweet and stylish.  Made by Amy from Canada, this bib is from her Etsy shop.  Also for sale are an equally cute polka dot panda one and a cityscape one.  The bibs are organic cotton and cost $19.26 each plus $5.35 shipping to the UK.  While you’re over at Amy’s delectable store, don’t miss her sweet little sandwich pouches.  They’re more than worth a view.

"cocoboheme baby bibs"

It’s been a while since I’ve brought you baby bibs but I haven’t found any worth mentioning.  That is, until today when I spotted these animal bibs by Cocoboheme. They’re so darn chic and stylish, I just had to tell you about them.  Made from potato starch, these bibs are biodegradable, re-usable, water proof and easy to clean.  Big on design yet kind to the planet – we like that around here.  The French team describe their creations as a mixture of craftiness, whimsy, poetry and aesthetics with a practical side and I couldn’t agree more.  The Cocoboheme animal bibs cost £10.80 each plus £3.50 delivery.  You’ve got a red lobster, orange hen, green frog and a pink pig to choose from… and if choosing one’s a problem, get two or three or all!
