Easter egg bunny craft ideas

I can’t remember doing many crafts as a kid but the one craft I remember doing each year was painting and decorating Easter eggs.  After we made our eggs, no matter how hideous they were, my mother would treasure them and almost treat them like they were priceless faberge eggs.  Only a mother could do that!  I haven’t painted an egg in years so this year I remembered in time and decided to make these cute black and white Easter egg bunnies.

black and white room decorations

Ever since I can remember I’ve been drawn to minimal, simple, monochrome style.  When Anya was born and someone wanted to gift me a blanket for her, they asked what colour I wanted expecting a reply like pink or yellow.  My reply was off white or black and white.  My mum was horrified!  Horrified that I was subjecting my child to a colourless life!  But you know what – black, white and neutral tones can be so stunning in a kids room just like these decorations show us.  I can’t help but be drawn to things like that cat poster and that gorgeously simple pear pillow.  They can always be mixed with pops of colour so you can add as little or as much brightness as you like.  I won’t be giving up my black and white obsession any time soon so I’ve found some gorgeous black and white kids room decorations to share with you:

1.  grid pear pillow | 2. knitted bunny blanket | 3. girl doll cushion | 4. ball string lights | 5. cat poster | 6. whale chalkboard

Polar bear themed decor

"bear themed decor kids room"

Polar bears as we all know are one of the most dangerous creatures on earth but they look completely the opposite.  They look so soft and furry, cuddly and cute that it seems impossible that they could harm.  Dangerous or not, they do make adorable decor for a kids room.  They lend themselves to all kinds of kids stuff from bedding to cushions and so much more.  And besides their cute looks, I love the whole black and white colour scheme which is both modern and stylish.  So today I’ve picked out some of the best polar bear themed decor for a kids rooms.  How fun is that bookshelf?

1.  Bear head wall art | 2.  bear print baby blanket | 3. polar bear plate | 4. bear soft toy cushion | 5. polar bear cushion | 6. the last polar bear poster | 7.  bear duvet set | 8. polar bear bookshelf

"6 of the best black and white cushions for kids"

A couple of months ago I rounded up some of the best kids cushions around and many of my readers really enjoyed it so I thought I would do another round-up.  Today though it’s about monochrome black and white cushions.  I’m a big fan of cushions and believe you can never have too many.  I love the idea of using a whole lot of black and white cushions in a kids room but if you like colour too, you can of course mix it up.  Here are 6 black and white cushions that I’m loving at the moment:

1. sleepy head cushion | 2. polar bear cushion | 3.  smiley cloud cushion | 4.  miffy cushion | 5.  panda bear cushions | 6. mountain range cushion

"black and white posters for babies"

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know that I love black and white decor for every part of the home including kids rooms.    So this collection of mostly black and white posters for kids totally grabbed my attention.  It’s one of the cutest I’ve seen in a while and includes bunnies, mountains, type and more all presented in a clean, graphic style.

"posters-for-kids-bedrooms"You’ve probably guessed by now that these posters are from Sweden – you can’t miss the cool Scandi vibe.  These black and white kids room posters are so playful and cute and would add a touch of fun to any kids space.

I know that black and white kids decor isn’t for everyone but I am a big fan.  So if you are a fan like me then this new Dutch shop is for you.  En Las Nubes does some of the cutest black and white posters, wall stickers and decorations for kiddies as well as some adorable tees.  There are lots of stars, triangles, clouds and raindrops featured on a range of goodies, all in black and white but sometimes with a hint of pink or grey.  I’m especially loving those sweet posters that have happy little thoughts printed on them.

"alternative baby clothes"Brands that describe themselves as alternative aren’t my thing.  Most of the time I feel they try too hard to be different for the sake of being different.  Then last week I came across Nununu which describes itself as exactly that – ‘alternative baby fashion’ – and much as I hate to admit it, I do like it, a lot.  Nununu is different but not crazy different, not unwearable different, not different purely for the sake of different and that’s what I love.  Their clothes are seriously cool yet very wearable and look extremely comfortable for babies and toddlers.  I’m loving that black and white star dress and this sprinkle all in one playsuit.  I wish I had known about Nununu when my daughter was a baby but luckily many of their clothes go up to 6 years so I still have time to get a piece of this ‘alternative’ cool for her wardrobe.

Happy weekend ~ x
