Organic cotton baby kids clothes

We all love a bit of comfy, soft clothing to wear at home.  I often wear a pair of leggings with a striped t-shirt or a chunky sweater when I’m lounging around on a Sunday.  When Anya comes home from school the first thing she does is uniform off and some leggings and a tee on.  On top of this will go all kinds of crazy dressing up gear but underneath it’s stuff that doesn’t restrict and feels good against the skin. While I’m all for comfy, I also want us to be able to slip on a pair of boots and a coat and step out in whatever we’re  wearing.

For everyday kids essentials like leggings and tees, one of my favourites is this organic cotton range of simple stripes and solids by Mabo Kids.  Classic, comfy and stylish, these baby and kids essentials are more than smart enough to step out in yet so wearable and practical for any activity inside and out.    I’m especially loving that grey all in one  which looks so cool with a pair of wellies.  And since I’m not a track pants kind’a gal, those striped loose organic leggings with a solid coloured tee are such a stylish alternative for boy or girl.  If only all everyday clothing was this comfy and cool!

"how to mix prints and patterns"I’ve found that as Anya has started taking an interest in what she wears, she almost always tends to go for the craziest, most mis-matched combos which can even include her dotty pyjama bottoms combined with a floral skirt and a very ethnic Indian style top!  While I let her have freedom at home, I prefer to be in charge when we are going out.  That doesn’t always end happily but since I’ve noticed she is more drawn to bolder patterned clothes (like most kids), I now pick out clothes like these and have fun mixing and matching the various prints and patterns with her.  Mixing prints & patterns not only looks good but it’s also a way to give a new look to an old outfit.  So I thought I would share 3 of my favourite ways to mix prints and patterns:

"neutral striped bed linen for kids and adults"Combine solids and stripes in subtle tones and you’re on to a winner every time.  Thats what this new range of bed linen from Barcelona does so well.  Mikmax is all about natural, neutral fabrics for a timeless and ageless appeal.  There is a kids collection but for me, the entire range is perfect for any age.  With Winter coming up, I’m loving those chunky knit blankets and cushions… I can just picture myself cosying up on the sofa with my daughter Anya and spending an evening watching her current favourite film Jungle Book.

P.S. Have you seen what I’m giving away?  Some lovely French kids clothes and you choose what you like!

Dots and stripes…

"organic baby onesies bodysuits"Last month while I was in India I went to see my cousin’s baby who is just 6 months old.  She was absolutely adorable with her huge eyes and cheeky little grin.  While I was there she was taken in for a bath and came out wearing a simple striped bodysuit looking all fresh and smelling of that wonderful ‘just bathed baby smell’.  I don’t often get broody but that special baby smell did it to me!  I realised that it’s been a while since I’ve featured something purely for the tiniest little ones and so I went looking and couldn’t resist these delicious onesies and booties.  Simple stripes and polka dots in the freshest colours make for lovely Spring essentials.  They’re made by Nature Baby exclusively for J. Crew and are made of organic cotton and 100% chemical free materials so are perfect for a babies delicate skin.  If only I had seen these before I think I would have been unable to resist the the bright yellow polka dot booties and matching onesie.
