"winter boots for kids UK"

Every Winter I buy Anya a pair of boots.  I like to go for a style and colour that will go with everything so that I need only one pair.  This year I discovered a new online shop full of the most adorable Winter boots for kids.  Many of their styles and brands are ones that I haven’t seen in the UK so when they offered to send Anya a pair of boots my only problem was which pair to choose – they’re all so cute!  In the end we chose the orange Ocra boots which Anya loves.  They’re soft and are lined with fur making them very warm and cosy.  The orange colour is bright enough to please a child but not so bright as to clash with everything.  In fact the colour is quite unusual and hard to describe but I would call it a muted rusty orange that really can be worn with anything.

"European shoes for kids"

I adore little feet have the sweetest kids boot collection I’ve seen in a long time.  Lots of boots for boys, girls and toddlers by many European designers including a gorgeous brand which is new to me – Zecchino d’Oro.  The boys boots are no less stylish with colours ranging from soft greys to bright blues.  The green boys boot with the jigsaw puzzle imprint is one of my favourites and for girls I love those navy ones with gold hearts.  Aren’t they adorable?  I adore little feet are having a mid-season sale at the moment so there’s 25% off everything till the end of the month and they ship worldwide.  If you had to choose, which would you go for?

Leggings are probably one of the comfiest pieces of clothing especially for kids.  One of my favourite new arrivals in my shop are these black and white chain leggings.  They are so bold and the best part is they go with practically any colour or any print.  Here I’ve paired them with the green feather tunic which is my favourite look but I also love them with the red tunic and the lovely deep sky blue merry blouse.  What’s your favourite look?

"cute Winter hats scarves tights for kids"

Winter has literally arrived overnight.  This morning I was rummaging around Anya’s wardrobe and mine to pull out all our Winter scarves, hats and gloves.  While I always dread the cold, I do love the fashion that goes with it especially the accessories.  They keep you warm and they look so good.  Especially the stuff out there for kids.  From playful and fun accessories like these to more minimal styles, there is something for every taste.  Today I’m loving the idea of adding a playful twist to a kid’s outfit so I’ve rounded up some of the cutest and most fun Winter accessories out there.  Those leopard print knee-high socks – want!

With Winter on it’s way, it’s time to bring those woolens out.  I love big chunky knits or anything knitted and if it’s hand-knitted, even better.  My mum-in-law is the chief knitter in this family so I’m hoping there will be some delightful new Winter knits for Anya soon.  If you’re in to knitting, you have to check out these gorgeous patterns by Paelas.  Mostly for babies, the little wool suits, hats and jumpers are just too adorable for words.  And if not for your own babies, what a lovely gift to give a newborn.  Right now I’m really wishing I knew how to knit!

Halloween-cat-girl-outfit-DIY

Happy Halloween!  After trying a whole load of outfits, in the end Anya decided on being a cat or a cat girl.  The outfit was really easy to put together so if you’re still looking for a last minute costume idea, this is the one to go for.

"halloween cat DIY outfit"

To put this cat outfit together, all you need is charcoal or black tights and top (Anya wears a super soft charcoal polo neck sweater) or you can even go for any other dark colour like chocolate brown or navy.  Next cut some ears from card paper, paint them black and I have attached with simple bobby pins.  Then you need a mask which I have painted on with face paint or you make one from card paper.  Last, take a piece of black fabric or whatever colour your outfit is and roll it up to look like a tail.  You could use anything you have at home like a scarf or any piece of fabric.  And finally attach on to tights with a safety pin. Done! So what are your kids going as? I’d love to hear in the comments.

Have a very Happy Halloween!

"Aehem fish sweatshirt Ebabee shop"

A quick shop update today as there some adorable new pieces that have landed on my doorstep.  First up is this fish sweatshirt.  In a dark navy with a mustard fish printed on the front, this sweatshirt is such a cute piece for either boy or girl.  It’s versatile enough to wear with jeans, skirts or even with our very own blue bloomer shorts.

"unisex beige ant leggings ebabee shop"

These leggings have got to be the cutest I’ve seen with those three little ants crawling over them!  In a dark beige, these ant leggings will go with anything.  Visit the shop for a more detailed view and to see the little ants up close.

Last but not least are these bold graphic chain printed leggings.  On a white background, the black print really stands out and is so eye-catching.  If you’re in to mixing patterns like me, wear a bold printed top with these.  I love these with our feather print tunics.

These pieces, like many of the pieces in our shop are ideal for mixing and matching probably with what you already have in your wardrobe.  I love kids wearing clashing colours, mixed patterns, bold prints and generally breaking all the rules.  Because that’s when fashion gets fun!

"knitted baby booties""knitted yellow baby booties"Cute doesn’t even begin to describe these adorable knitted wellie booties for babies – I’m dying of cute overload here!  These baby booties are a tribute to the cool Aigle wellington boots for kids.  We are big fans of Aigle boots here and Anya even has a pair.  The design of using bold colours with simple stripes is classy and stylish.  And then this – a mini hand-knitted version for babies.  Too cute.  These baby booties would make such a fun and unusual gift for a new mum and would keep those little toes nice and toasty in the coming Winter months.  I’m totally in love with the yellow ones for baby boy or girl.

P.S. Have you checked out our shiny new kids clothing shop?

Focus on feathers!

October 22, 2014

Skirts are one of my favourite pieces of clothing for little girls, especially in Winter.  I love how you can create so many different looks with one simple skirt by mixing and matching with different tights, leggings and tops.  Add a pair of boots or a pair of Mary Janes to change the look yet again.  One of my favourite skirts in my new shop is this feather print skirt.  From the deep rusty red colour to the bold black feathers and the flared style, I think this skirt is such a great piece that can be worn in so many ways through the Winter.  So here are a few ways I would mix and match with different tops and tights or socks:

Glitter animal sweatshirt | Feather print skirt | knee high socks | black leather boots

LOOK 2
Pleated panel jumper | Feather print skirt | Striped footless tights | Gold ankle boots

Bright yellow cardigan | Feather print flared skirt | Glittery grey tights | Slip-on shoes with face detail

LOOK 4
Striped tee | Feather print skirt | Star print tights | Floral print boots

I love a bit of mixing patterns and prints so I’ve gone for some of those looks.  I also love wearing unexpected colours together – like the rusty red tights with the purple boots. My favourite look is probably the first one with the animal sweatshirt.  What’s your favourite look?

"cape and mask sets for kids"

Even though Halloween is not as big here in the UK as it is in the US, it’s becoming more and more popular.  If I had to pick a celebration that Anya loves above all else it would be Halloween.  She even prefers it to Christmas.  I guess it’s the whole dressing up thing that makes it so exciting and also going out after dark to collect sweeties is such a treat for a kid.  I’ve been looking around for some fun costumes and I really liked these simple cape and masks sets that I came across.  As far as Halloween costumes go I prefer simpler stuff and stuff that can be re-used as part of dressing up play.  These capes and masks are all handmade in cotton and are perfect for boy or girl.  That little crown is so cute too.  Anya hasn’t yet decided what she wants to dress up as this year but I’m hoping it will be something simple.  What are your kids dressing up as?

P.S. Did you know that we have launched our very own kids clothing store?
