No matter how hard I try to change, I always come back to my absolute favourite colours of black and white. Timeless, classic yet modern, always stylish… what’s not to love? Here are some beautiful black and white things that I’m currently loving for mamas and kids. Those dotty culottes and that flared dress are definitely on my wish list.
I’m no make-up junkie. Over the years my make-up use has actually decreased when it probably should have increased! I’m not one to spend hours applying make-up; I just don’t have the time or the patience anymore. But I still want to look and feel good so I’m always searching for quick and easy to use products with maximum results. When I do come across a product that delivers without hours of effort, it’s a keeper. These 2 little jars by Benefit fall in to this category and are my ‘can’t live without’ make-up bag essentials.
Benetint adds a natural looking rosy tint to my cheeks in seconds. In the morning before the school run, when every second counts and when I’m busy tending to everyone elses needs before mine, this is what adds that hint of natural looking colour to my face especially on those dull skin days. On top of that goes high beam which gives a subtle healthy glow to my face and I love that you don’t need any fancy brushes to apply either one, just the bottle and your fingers. I thought I would start sharing a few of my finds here in case you are like me too – a mum looking for quick, easy but effective little tools to make you look and feel better when time is very limited.
What are your favourite quick and effective make-up tips and tricks? I’d love to hear in the comments.
… and keep them forever. This year I’ve decided to get better at actually printing my photos. There’s no point taking a load of pictures that end up stuck on a hard drive somewhere or on your phone or social networks. There’s something much more special about holding your pictures. And with all the creative printing options on offer, there really isn’t any excuse. I recently found Pinstagr.am and it’s the perfect way to print all your instagram photos, especially if you use instagram a lot. I love the teeny little books they offer as well as the stickers of your instagram photos but there are loads more fun products. Apart from keeping memories for myself, I think they’d make inexpensive little gifts for my mum, brother and other close family who don’t live in this country so feel they’re missing out on Anya growing up. Pinstagr.am are US based but they offer a reasonable worldwide flat shipping rate.
Today here are some gift ideas for mamas. I’ve rounded up mainly accessories and smaller gifts because these are the kinds of things you probably wouldn’t buy for yourself but would love to receive as a gift. I hope you enjoy them!
When I was pregnant I invested in a few key maternity pieces. I spent a quite a lot on them simply because I didn’t want to compromise on my style just because I was pregnant. They were great to wear while I was expecting and for a few months after but now those pieces are hanging in my wardrobe gathering dust. Last week I came across Hatch and all I can say is where were they when I was pregnant?! Hatch make super stylish clothes but the best bit is they’re not just for pregnancy. Hatch collections are clothes that you can wear at pretty much any stage of your life including pregnancy. And they’re especially great if you’ve got a bit of a post kids tummy… what’s not to like?
