Don your sunny’s people, today is a colourful day!  Bolder than bold, brighter than bright shades of fuchsia, aqua, yellow, purple and lime are what’s on offer.  The German Hey-Sign bring us cool housey stuff in modern graphic shapes, all crafted from felt.  On offer are butterfly shaped placemats, fruit shaped coasters, animal shaped rugs like the frog one above, round cushions and lots more.  While the frog shaped rug may be aimed at the kiddies, there really are no hard and fast rules here… everything can and should be enjoyed by big and small peeps alike.  To get these uber modern Hey-Sign objects, head to Ambient Direct.  The frog rugs cost from €259 with shipping at €6.  Oh, don’t miss Hey-Sign’s own site especially if you want a huge happy colour hit!

"black contour kids dinnerware"Ooh… another Scandi designer that’s got me gripped.  This time it’s a lady called Pernille Vea from Denmark and she’s created this ‘Black Contour Kids’ tableware.  So simple yet so stylish.  Who’d think a black line with a small silhouette of a cat, snail and croc could be so impactful?   This kids dinner set is modern and playful and it’s pretty cool too.  The set includes a bowl, plate and cup and the plate can also be used as a lid for the bowl.  To get the Black Contour Kids dinner set head to Panik-Design where it costs £25 with shipping at £6.95.

"Fifi Mandirac disposable placemats"

These paper place mats are just too cute!  I’m loving the round, chubby shapes of the animals and the vibrant colours too.  They’re made by Fifi Mandirac, a Paris based graphic designer who creates some lovely paper goodies.  These super sweet placemats are perfect to take out and about.  Since they’re made of paper your bambino’s can have a good ol’ scribble.  They come as a set of 12 and are currently reduced to just £4 over at Peanut & Pip.  And for any newbies around here, be warned: Peanut & Pip are brimming with uber wantable goodies for the kidlets so enter at your own risk!

P.S. We’re running a giveaway. There’s vouchers to be won. Check out and like our Facebook page for all the details.

"teresa green bird place mats"

Teresa Green is a name I came across today.  I quickly ditched the post I had planned in favour of these lovelies.  And lordy, these place mats by Teresa Green are truly lovely.  They’re not just for kids though, I can see them quite at home in the most stylish of homes, especially if your style is of the understated kind.  The stick like drawings of the long legged birdies are sweet enough to appeal to childish tastes, yet stylish enough to grace an adult dinner table.  Made of 100% linen, these place mats are washable so spill away.  Place mats they are but I’m actually fancying them as wall art.  They’re quite large measuring 63 x 38cms, so I’d be tempted to stick them in a frame and use them as rather unusual nursery wall art.  And when you fancy a change, use them as place mats again.  These Teresa Green Leggy Birds place mats cost £33 for a pair from Little Fashion Gallery.  Delivery is normally €9 but if you ‘like’ Little Fashion Gallery’s facebook page, you can get free delivery in Europe.

"not Neutral melamine snack set"

"not Neutral colourful kids rugs"

"not neutral tree wall stickers"not Neutral is what they’re called and not neutral is what you can expect, big time.  If you love your whites, creams and ivories then this ones probably not for you.  But if hot, fiery colours float your boat, stick around and don your sunnies!  Based in LA, this design company create fabby kiddy stuff and homey stuff.  On offer are melamine plates, area rugs, quilts, wall art, the most delicious garden stakes I’ve ever laid eyes on and more.  And everything comes in shocking pinks, canary yellows, lime greens, sea blues… you get the idea.  To give you a measure of prices, the melamine snack set costs $26, while the rugs are from $260, and they deliver to the UK from $8.  Check out not Neutral and feast your eyes on their bold n’ beautiful goodies.

"painted fish plates"

When I spotted these fish plates I just couldn’t wait to share.  They’re so cool (in a fishy kind’a way!).  I’m loving the simple black hand painted illustrations against the cool white.  Utterly uncomplicated, but then great design usually is.  And their lovely looks may even make the kids eat their greens (not really, but I dream).  They’re made in Barcelona by Susana Del Bano who also creates the most wonderful illustrations for kids.

"hana blomst kids mug"

Hana Blomst.  A brand that brings together two cultures to create fabby kids plates, mugs and bowls.  The delicateness and poetry of Japanese culture is married with hot Danish design and colour to create super wantable stuff to eat and drink from.  I’ve just spotted the latest collection and I had to share.  The bright coloured mugs with the simple animal graphics are oh so sweet.  Then you’ve got the matching plates in white with just a splash of colour to bring them to life.  And on the practical side, the mugs have lids to prevent little hands from spilling their drinks.  The Hanna Blomst mugs and plates cost €14 each and you can get them at Smallable’s online store.  The bad news: they’re not available till May (boo hoo!).

P.S. Check out our little baby auction site with bargains galore.

"kata golda tea cup"

This week, I’ve looked at fabulous goodies from Spain, Belgium and Australia.  Today I’m westward bound as it’s an American mama who’s caught my eye.  The lady in question is Kata Golda.  Inspired by her daughters drawings she creates these cups so lovely.  When I laid eyes on them it was love at first sight.  Y’know, the pure, and joyous kind’a love you feel when your baby giggles for the first time.  These cups are happy and innocent yet so stylish with the simple black child-like drawings against the smooth ivory stoneware.  I’m liking, a lot!  On offer are 16 designs, mostly embellished with animal drawings but some have little people on them.  The Kata Golda tea cups cost $20 each and the lovely Kata’s told me she ships internationally too.  Hooray!

"felt elephant coasters"

I was searching for something completely different when I stumbled upon these hand crafted elephant coasters.  Their super cute, colourful looks got me hooked and I had to share.  Made of wool felt in 5 bright and bold colours with a contrasting coloured heart, they’re just deliciously sweet and will protect your lovely furniture from the inevitable drips and spills.   You can get them as a set of 5 at Jqline’s shop on Etsy for $20 plus delivery at $3.50.  And as she suggests, you can even attach a ribbon to them and use them as little nursery decorations.  Or try stitching them on to a plain white cot bumper to liven it up and get a one of a kind bumper.  I’m loving the possibilities these offer.

"sirch highchair alfons"

Many moons ago while highchair hunting, I came across the Alfons highchair by Sirch.  It was love at first sight.  Today I came across it again and the love just swept over me like a giant wave.  With it’s super minimal looks, sleek lines and understated design, Alfons is a style-crazy mama’s dream.  And so naturally our blog wouldn’t be complete without a feature on this hottie!  It’s suitable from 6 months to 3 years as it adapts to the child as they grow and I love that it doesn’t have a tray which means your bambino can join you at the table.  The Alfons Highchair by Sirch costs £200 (it’s on sale reduced from £300… hooray!) with free delivery and comes in white only.  With it’s uber-stylishness, it’s definitely one to leave on display to the envy of all mama’s who visit.
