If you’re not in to bold, bright colours but on the other hand find white spaces too blah,  pastels can work really well for your nursery or kids room.   With pastels you can choose to go with just one tone keeping it more minimal or you can mix a range of pastel shades to create a more colourful room.   Here are 5 pastel rooms to inspire you:

"minimal pastel baby nursery"

This is a beautiful minimal space by Aurelie Lecuyer with pastel walls that are complimented with pastel accessories like the bedding and cushions.   I love how the colours don’t take over the room but instead it’s that vintage cot that really shines and everything else works so well with it.

Beanie on helina…

"cloud cushions for kids"

It was the name – Beanie on Helina – that first got my attention.  It’s such an unusual name for a shop.  I discovered a stylish and sweet world of cushions that include clouds, houses and raindrops.  Beanie on Helina is a Finnish shop by Kaisa Erkkila and you can totally see the stylish Scandinavian vibe.  The name is inspired by a story Kaisa’s dad told her when she was a kid about a temperamental little girl who wore a beanie.  In addition to cushions, Beanie on Helina also offers some cool home wares like cloud pot holders (which would also look nice on a kids room wall), pouches and jewelry.

Room for two…

"ideas for shared rooms for kids""kids shared room ideas"

Recently, a friend of mine was debating about whether to separate her two kids or leave them together in one room.  As kids, my brother and I always shared a room.  Even though we could have had separate rooms, my parents always kept us together.  I have to admit it was a lot more fun that way.  What’s better than having a partner in crime when you sneak around after being put to bed?  Or when you hide under the covers with a torch and play for hours, with your parents none the wiser?  So of course my advice to her was to keep them together without question.  And to convince her i even offered to find her some inspiration for shared kids rooms.  These were my favourite finds and so I’m sharing them here in case they inspire you too.

"groovy magnetic wallpaper kids"

When I first saw these magnetic wallpapers I wasn’t sure but they’ve really grown on me.  I’ve been wanting to create a little inspiration board for myself and I’m now loving the idea of using one of these cool wallpapers.

"magnetic wallpaper for kids"

In our kitchen I want to create a wall where Anya can put up her drawings and this could be just the thing to use.  With magnets there’s no sticking and no mess so you can chop and change your wall hangings anytime you like.  I especially love that these Groovy Magnets wallpapers are for any room and any age.

Pretty vintage spaces…

"vintage girls bedrooms"

Here are some beautiful vintage kids rooms to inspire you today.  The floral wallpapers, the vintage beds, the little pompoms and garlands all come together to create spaces that are so charming.  While I love them all, my favourite is the second one with that gorgeous wallpaper and the almost faded Autumnal colour scheme.  Vintage rooms don’t get much prettier than these, don’t you think?

Have a wonderful weekend and stay warm!

Sweet dreams…

"cloud pillows for kids"Whoever sleeps on these goodnight pillows is going to have the sweetest dreams, don’t you think?  The pillows look so peaceful with their soft colours and doze-y expressions.  I’m loving this (sleepy) sweetness from Colette Bream.

"vintage nursery lamps"How cute are these vintage inspired bunny night lights?  I’ve been a fan for a while but I’m especially loving these soft pastel shades.  And don’t miss the ‘cheeky’ backs on these lights… too cute!  Great for adding a little quirk to any retro or vintage kids room.

mama & baby…

"leather animal bookedns for kids"This week’s picks for mama & baby… let mama decorate with this handmade ceramic drink set while baby decorates with that pair of  faux leather penguin bookends.

"animal print wallpaper for kids"Today my wallpaper obsession is being fueled by these adorable modern designs by interior designers Sissy & Marley for Jill Malek.  These chic patterns come mostly in metallic silver or gold and the prints are small and subtle enough so even though they work really well in a nursery, they’d also work in an older child’s room.  Which is a relief as there is no DIY job worse than stripping wallpaper!  My favourite is the giraffes one but I can’t decide if I like the silver or gold better.  What’s your favourite?

Have a delightful weekend and see you on Monday.
