More from Maine…

September 25, 2013

"childrens shop Portland Maine"I love discovering little shops tucked away in far corners of the big wide world that we live in.  Before the internet you could only make these discoveries by traveling but now I keep finding little gems that make me want to go visit those places.  I have a growing list of small, independent shops from across the globe that I hope to visit one day and the latest addition to this list is More & Co in Portland, Maine.  I love their small but playful and fun selection of goodies many of which are their own creations.  Those colourful shapes t-shirts are so cute and the wooden toys on offer are playful and beautiful.  I also love that simple starry domino set.  If I ever go to Maine, I know I’d love to stop by More & Co and meet the people behind this creative little shop.

The cutest wall stickers…

September 24, 2013

"cute wall stickers for girls"When I was growing up, the one thing that was strictly forbidden in our home was writing on the walls or sticking anything on them for fear of marking the walls.  But I still couldn’t resist sticking one teeny-tiny sticker just on the side of my bed and I’m pleased to say (thankfully) my mother never discovered it.  In those days, the stickers were very glue-y and stain-y as there was no such thing as wall stickers.  But how I wish there were.  If somebody had given me super cute wall stickers like these ones by Swantje & Freida, I would have been the happiest kid on the planet!  I mean how sweet are these stickers?  And of course with wall stickers like these, there are no marks on the walls so my mother would’ve been delighted too.

These stickers have been created by Swantje, a graphic designer from Cologne and the main character featured is Freida – the girl with the red cheeks.  She is adorable as are the other characters and animals.  This range has been created specially for Poisson Bulle which is where you’ll find them but Swantje also does some other delightful illustrations for kids which will bring a big smile to your face… promise!

Pinterest palettes ~ 01

September 23, 2013

"pinterest inspired colour palette 1"Of all the social media sites out there, I’m enjoying pinterest the most at the moment.  I love looking at pretty pictures and pinterest is full of them.  So I thought it would be fun to occasionally share some of my pins and also pins from other inspirational pinners.  But instead of just sharing pictures randomly, I’ve picked a colour palette and have chosen images within these colours.  So for this first one I’ve gone with black, white, green and the slightest hint of a peachy pink.  I love this combination of colours and think they would work well together in a kids room or even as an outfit.

Are you on pinterest?  Do you love it too or what’s your favourite social media?

1.  Green knitted sweater,  2.  Black and white kids room,  3.  Don’t grow up poster,  4. Green striped jacket,  5.  Cat at the altar doll

Sweet hearts…

September 18, 2013

"heart baby blanket"Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of heart adorned stuff for kids.  A lot of it isn’t for me but sometimes, when it’s kept simple,  it can be super sweet like that black and white baby blanket.  So here are my current favourite {sweet} heart picks:

1.  Two hearts poster by Seventy tree,  2.   Louis Louise heart print duvet cover from smallable,  3.  Jess Brown Wovenplay doll from Miniluu,  4.  Knitted heart baby blanket by Yarning made,  5.  Oeuf NYC heart sweater,  6.  Mini hearts wall stickers by Ferm Living.

Autumn blues…

September 16, 2013

"blue accessories for girls"I always start thinking more about accessories come Autumn.  With the cooler weather you begin needing scarves and hats but more than that, accessories really lift an outfit and Autumn is a time when I need a lift.  Even more than me, I love accessorising my daughter’s outfits often with just one unexpected piece like a pretty necklace or a statement brooch.  I went looking for some accessories for her today and I loved these blue ones that I found.  The pale and deep blues are lovely for this season and will work well with so many outfits.  Here’s where you’ll find them:

1.  Flower hair clips by Cos…  2.  Louise Misha tulle necklace from Minikin…  3.  Polka dot bonnet with ears by Les Zigouis…  4.  Umbrella adorned scarf by Bobo Choses.

Cosy and so cute…

September 13, 2013

"hand knit baby clothes"I can’t believe that I haven’t shared this adorable brand with you before!  I love Misha & Puff not just for their beautiful hand knitted baby clothes but also for the cute overload.  Those little babies look so cosy and pretty in these knits.  That pointy pale yellow hat is just the cutest!  And the colour palette is very striking too.  Misha & Puffs hand knits go from 0 to 24 months so I’ve missed the boat on this one but I still can’t help drooling over the clothes and wishing I had baby to put them in!

Have a wonderful weekend!

mama & baby…

"pink tutu dress for girls"This week’s picks for mama & baby… let mama decorate with this delicate gold specked bowl while baby wears that pretty ballet inspired outfit.

"French clothes for children"I’m a big fan of stocking up on stylish essentials for my daughters wardrobe (and mine); you know the kind that let you mix and match to create chic everyday looks.  That is exactly what this new AW 2013 collection by Merveilles does so well.  It’s full of very French and very chic essentials that can be dressed up or down.  The collection is small with mostly girls clothes although there are a few pieces for boys too.  I’m loving that denim and mustard combo and that green outfit is super chic too!

Update August 2014: Sadly Merveilles no longer exists.

"blakc and white nursery decor ideas"At the moment I can’t seem to get enough of Scandinavian style black & white interiors.  It’s such a clean and striking look for any room.  So I’ve put together some things I’m really loving for a Scandi inspired black & white baby nursery.

1. Hand knit Paris garland…  2. Bear of few words A4 print…  3. Tree adorned crib bedding…  4. Black and birch high chair…  5.  Stripey cloud cushion…  6. Raindrop wall stickers…  7.  Jealous baby soft toy.
