Bobo Choses is a super cool kiddy clothes brand from sunny Spain and I’m a huge fan. I’ve brought you their collections before and I’ve since discovered their home collection where they’ve got some funky rugs and chairs on offer. I’m especially loving the rugs, many of which are playground themed and then there’s also the lovely camping themed one. The little childlike illustrations of the swings, slides and see-saws are just adorable as are the colour combo’s especially the burnt orange colour which features on many of the rugs. These tapestry rugs are hand made in India and Peru and would look cool not just as rugs but also as wall hangings in a kids space. Bobo Choses have now got an online store so head there to check out their home wares as well as their trendy clothes.

Now I know my ABC’s…
February 8, 2012
I love my ABC’s especially since they lend themselves to some amazing designs. I don’t know many kids who don’t have some sort of alphabet adorned thing… be it wooden blocks, ABC cushions or even an alphabet duvet cover. One of my favourite ABC adorned things is alphabet posters or prints and today I’ve discovered a new one which I wanted to share. This is by a fabulously creative Swedish boutique called Fine Little Day started by a mama called Elisabeth Dunker. Her aim is to make art and design a part of your everyday life and her store is full of goodies to help you do just that including this simple but stylish ABC poster. I love the colours, I love the way some of the alphabets are turned in to cute objects and I even love the printing style. Nothing fussy, just clean, fun ABC style! Head to Fine Little Day to see this alphabet poster and to check out more of Elisabeth’s goodies.
Super fun birthday cards for kids
February 7, 2012
I’m a bit of a stationery fiend. I love buying the stuff and stashing it away for use one day. Be it cool notebooks, pretty gift tags, quirky cards or gorgeous wrapping paper, I can’t resist. And one of my favourite stores for the most unusual and most beautiful paper goodies is the Sydney based online store called Upon a Fold. Today I’ve rounded up 6 of their cards and gift tags that are all super pretty, super fun or super cool in some way. I’m just loving the gorgeous flower gift tags as well the the white dove card. The chocolate lolly and the lollipop cards look good enough to eat while the clown card is colourful and fun! Last is the beautiful elephant card where I’m loving the white with the hint of red. Justine, the owner, seriously has an eye for the most fabulous paper goodies so head to Upon a Fold and have a browse. Worldwide shipping is offered.
If you’d like to see another of my favourites from Justine’s store, check out this super simple but elegant bird mobile from Japan.
Update July 2014: Sadly Upon a Fold shop is no more.
Nursery style: Cool blue for girls
February 3, 2012
Blue for boy… not this time! This is a cool blue nursery for a girl. If you’re a regular around here you’ll know that I’m not a blue for boy and pink for girl type of mama. So when I saw this nursery I loved it because it shows how blue can work so well for a girl too. And besides the colour, I love the way the nursery has been put together. It’s a mixture of styles with modern stuff as well as vintage, with retro and contemporary vibes making it a very unique and individual space. I’ve also spotted decor stuff from many of my favourite kids brands like Lale, Ferm Living, Lucky boy Sunday and more. The creator of this space has mixed different shades of blue from very pale to deep and then added splashes of other colours which all come together so well. To find our more about all the goodies in this room, head to Style Cookie where I found this room.

Kiddy clothes with a splash of sunshine!
February 1, 2012
Winter is truly here and I’m missing the sunshine. I’m in need of a big warm hug from the sun so while I wait I thought I would bring you some kids clothes that have been injected with a little bit of sunny yellow. I’m a huge fan of lots of yellow for nursery decor and for kiddy clothes but a splash of yellow with other colours works so well too. Here are my top picks:
1. The ever cool Bobo Choses brings us this ice-lolly vest for boy or girl. You can get this at Orefeo Design.
2. A pretty little crochet swing cardigan for baby girls from Les Jardins de Vie. The lace details are just so girly and lovely.
3. This sweet jumpsuit is from the fabulously stylish and fabulously French Bonpoint boutique and it’s for babies up to 2 years old.
4. Adorable and bright, these little baby alpaca wool booties with suede soles are by Waddler and are hand made in Bolivia.
5. Very unusual and very quirky with a vintage vibe is this postcard print dress by Dominique Ver Eecke from a boutique called Zoen.
6. I’m loving the sunny yellow with the bold blue on these gorgeous little booties from Heart Felt 4 Kids. The sunflower motif and floral lining makes them even more special.
7. A flirty skirt in the most delicious berry and mustard colour combination – is there an adult version, please?!. It’s by super trendy Miller London and it’s available from Elias & Grace.
8. Angulus shoes have long been a favourite of mine and these pale yellow ones would be the perfect compliment to many an outfit on a dull winters day. They’re from Sparkle & Spin.
9. Ouef NYC do create goodies that are hugely desirable as is this adorable 100% alpaca wool charcoal dress with cute heart shaped pockets in mustard. Another lovely colour combo.
Pretty wooden alaphabet blocks and more
January 31, 2012
I was searching for wooden alphabet blocks on etsy when one particular set caught my eye. I clicked and was taken to a shop filled with beautiful illustrations not just on blocks but on wall prints and little books too. I loved what I saw so ditched my previous post idea and decided to make today all about the British illustrator Julia Staite. I do love etsy for the unique talent it’s filled with and Julia’s work is the perfect example. Her illustrations are so pretty! There’s lots of colour, some whimsical characters, quirky drawings and above all it’s fun. The blocks are great for play but they’d also make lovely decorations for a nursery and Julia also offers personalised wooden alphabet blocks so you can have your babies name spelled out. I’m very keen on the circus themed prints too which would work equally well in a toddler, kiddy or nursery space. You can find all this and more over at Julia Staite’s shop.
Pequeno Tocon: Super elegant style for newborn babies
January 30, 2012
I visited Playtime Paris on the weekend. Playtime is a trade show packed with beautiful kiddy designers mostly from Europe and some from the US. What a feast for the eyes Playtime was. One of my favourite finds for newborn babies was Pequeno Tocon from Spain. They make clothes for ‘the smallest ones in the house’… clothes for 0 to 3 months old. The offerings are to die for. When I spotted them I couldn’t take my eyes off them and I inspected each item they had on display. Really simple but stunning and elegant little pieces in whites, sands, soft greys and some dusty pinks too. They look beautifully made and if you give it as a gift to a new mama, she’s sure to love you forever. There are a few outfits by Pequeno Tocon available over at Orfeo Design otherwise head to their own site and drop them a line.

A small soup bowl with a big story
January 27, 2012
Yesterday I came across Hoto, a small pottery studio in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They’re only a few months old and so far they make just one thing… this lovely soup bowl, but it’s not just about the bowl. It’s called Little Red Cap and it’s a bowl with a story. There are 4 different illustrations within the bowl that tell a visual Little Red Riding Hood type story but there’s more. The artist has brought the tale to life by creating a background of trees and wolves that come with the bowl. So while your little one is eating, you can set up the background and tell the story with the lovely props. I think the idea is so creative, so unusual, so lovely and I hope Hoto make more such themed plates and bowls. The packaging too deserves a mention… the round box with the hanging wolves is simple but very stylish. You can find out more at Hoto’s site where you can buy the bowl too and they ship internationally. What a fantatsic idea!

5 fabulous cushions (or pillows) for kids
January 26, 2012
I’m a big fan of having lots and lots of cushions strewn around the living room and bedroom. I’ve been looking to do the same for the bambino’s bedroom and have been on the hunt for some cool kids cushions. I haven’t decided on my favourite yet but I’ve found 5 that I love:
1. Donna Wilson is pure British and pure cool. I love this tree cushion for it’s quirkiness and unique style.
2. This can only be described as the ‘apple’ of my eye (sorry)!! By Oeuf NYC, this apple cushion looks good enough to eat.
3. French and fabulous is this sweet bow cushion by Le Petite Luce and it’s from Little Fashion Gallery
4. There are loads of lovely cloud cushions around but this one by Blabla Kids tops my list. I just adore the cute little bird detail.
5. Ever since I discovered Colette Bream I was smitten by her goodies and this house shaped cushion is a part of her wonderful collection.

Mi.le bebe: Spanish baby style so beautiful
January 24, 2012
I love to bring you goodies from France as the French really do get style and create some of the loveliest kiddy products I’ve ever seen. But there is another European country that has become a hot bed for design and that’s Spain. So, I’ve been seeking out some Spanish design to share with you and one of my favourite finds is mi.le bebe. They make clothes for 0-2 year olds that have been inspired by the soft Mediterranean breeze and the glorious beaches of the Med. On offer are onesies and cardi’s in fine knits and cottons, all beautifully co-ordinated in subtle colours and made with the greatest attention to detail. I’m loving the belt/ribbon feature that looks so adorable on many of the baby outfits. I just wish I’d discovered them when my bambino was a little baby… maybe it’s time for baby no.2?! Visit mi.le bebe to see all their beautiful offerings. The site looks like it’s not yet complete as they have yet to update their stockists page but you can always drop them a line or visit their showroom if you happen to be in Barcelona.
