Eye-catching Danish design for the home

Have you seen the stunning new Spring/Summer 2015 collection from Oyoy? Oyoy is a Danish interiors brand for kids and adults and in true Scandinavian style, they make bold and beautiful cushions, soft toys, blankets, bedding and more. From the new collection for kids, it’s the soft toys that are really standing out for me but then again the adventure rug (pictured second from top) and the circle rug are very cool too.

The soft toys aren’t just toys but cushions too so they’re equally good for playing with or decorating with. These are the kind of playful cushions that I wouldn’t even object to having in my living room – especially that turtle! Then there’s the adventure rug in striking black and off white which would be so much fun in any kids room. And the circle rug – simple, minimal but so eye-catching. Forget the kids, I want that for my room over some light wooden floors. While I’m lusting after their kids stuff, their grown-up things are equally lust-worthy so they’re worth checking out too. I’m just glad I have a whole house to do up soon so I may just have an excuse to indulge in some of this!

Who doesn’t have a little soft spot in their heart for H&M? Even if you don’t, once you see this cuteness I don’t think you’ll be able to resist. This baby collection of bed linen, towels, toys and more is just the sweetest. Those elephant cushions are so adorable and so is all that starry bedlinen. If you haven’t discovered H&M’s home collection for babies yet, check it out because I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Chic Swedish homewares for kids and adults too

Today I discovered Mini Empire, a fabulous little store from Sweden. Mini Empire is all about the world of animals and deep woods depicted through the wonderful illustrations of Jenny Von Döbeln. These illustrations adorn cushions, posters, wallpaper and more. The beauty of all the goodies is that they can be appreciated by anyone, regardless of age or gender and their main aim is to bring a little bit of fantasy and fun in to your home. I’m loving the owl print especially on the wallpaper.

There are a lot of stylish goodies to be had from Mini Empire but some of my absolute favourites are the black and white prints, and in particular the ‘Africa’ poster with the elephant, lion and bird. I absolutely love the style of illustration as well as the intricate detail of each animal. This poster would look super cool in a kiddy space or an adult space… in fact I’m seriously tempted. Etsy love: Cool hand made soft toys

I love Etsy! I’ve been known to disappear in to the world of Etsy for hours on end, which is exactly what I did this weekend. There is so much creativity and talent on there and that means I always find something that I can’t wait to share with you. Today it’s all about Colette Bream, a store filled with super stylish, cool and quirky goodies for the kids. On offer are hand made soft toys that can double up as playful cushions too, there are some dressing up bits, some lovely toddler bedding sets and the most adorable party hat. For now, I’m concentrating on the hand made softies that are on offer… I love the little house cushion and the bird in boots one is pretty cool too. Then there is the tree cushion and the clouds which are also just lovely. I could go on but I’ll let you discover the rest over at Colette Bream’s Etsy store.

Hand made soft toys and nursery art by Kate Durkin

On the weekend while browsing Buy Modern Baby, I came across Kate Durkin and I couldn’t wait to share her goodies with you. Kate makes the loveliest nursery art and some adorable throw pillows in animal shapes. The pillows are also perfect as hug-able soft toys for babies and young kids. Her style is clean and simple which gives her goodies their huge appeal. I love all the artwork… there’s a certain softness of style and a sophistication which makes them appealing for kids and adults too. The pillows too would look equally at home on a living room sofa or in a kiddy space. I’m extremely partial to style that has no age boundaries and that’s what Kate manages to do so well.
