best christmas gifts for under 20

Sometimes when time is short and you’ve left stuff to the last minute, it’s handy to have one place to go to, to find all your gifts.  That place for me is Little Flea – a one-stop place where you find all the best baby and kids brands from small, independent retailers.  Rather than trawl the entire web looking for christmas gifts for kids, I find it a lot easier to go to Little Flea where I still get lots of choice but save a lot of time too.

In our home, Anya’s birthday is just a little before Christmas.  That means December is full of presents for her – sometimes too many.  So what we do is give her a big present for her birthday and small, inexpensive stuff for Christmas.  I always get her birthday present organised in time but with everything going on the little Christmas gifts often get left till the last minute.  So today I headed to Little Flea to make a list of possibles for Anya and while I was there I picked out some of the best little gifts that you too can get for under £20 with many that are under £10 too.  Here are my picks for the best Christmas gifts for under 20:

1.rain cloud bath toy | 2. set of fruity bookmarks | 3. lion cushion soft toy | 4. sunny yellow peel of nail polish | 5. unisex knee high bear socks (blue or wine) | 6. set of superhero masks | 7. flower series sonny angels | 8. colourful wooden rattle | 9. pom pom hair clips | 10. penguin art print | 11. wooden aeroplane toy | 12. woodland doll toy | 13. artistik herve tullet drawing game | 14. mouse doll rattle

P.S. I have lots more gift ideas you can take a look at including gifts for babies, some fabulous book gift ideas and more.

best books for kids aged 7 years

Books are my favourite gifts to give kids.  For birthdays, for Christmas gifts, for any occasion at all.   With so many fabulous kids books out there, it’s not hard to find the perfect book for any child.  Here I’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite books – some of which we already have and others that are on our wish list. I’ve mixed up the selection to include picture books, art books, activity books, educational books and more.

Anya’s Christmas gifts always include books and usually a selection of different types like the ones I’ve suggested here. The one that I am looking most forward to buying her this Xmas is The School of Art which I have browsed through and it looks great not just for kids but for adults too.  The books I’ve picked are for a range of ages from toddlers to 10 year olds so there’s something for everyone.  The ages though are just rough guides, not set in stone.

Here are my best kids books gift suggestions for this year:

"best books for 4-6 year old kids"

We are complete bookworms in this house.  I would go so far as saying almost more then adult books, I adore kids books and get excited every time we get a new one.  Christmas is the perfect excuse for me to go a bit over the top buying new books for Anya.  Last week I shared some great activity books for kids so today I wanted to share some story books.  Most of these books are suitable for around ages 4-7 years but of course can be read out loud to younger kids too.  Some of them are old classics like Puss in Boots and Aesops Fables but I’ve picked new and exciting editions which bring something different.  We already own some of these books and love them and the rest are on our wish list:

1. Once Upon an Alphabet | 2. Aesop’s Fables | 3. Ramayana: The Divine Loophole | 4. Sparky! | 5. My Teacher is a Monster! (No, I am not) | 6. The Book With No Pictures | 7. All the animals were angry | 8. The Day The Crayons Quit | 9. Animalium (Welcome to the Museum) | 10. Pippi Longstocking | 11. Puss in Boots

"11 of the best activity books for kids"

My absolute favourite thing to gift kids is books – any kind of book from story books, to picture books to activity books.  Christmas gifts for Anya would not be complete without at least one book included but usually I give her many more.  If you’re crazy for kids books too then you’ll love today’s round-up of gifts.  I’ve chosen a range of the best kids activity books out there from drawing books to puzzles to colouring books.  These activity books are for a range of ages mostly from around 4 to 8 years but even younger kids can get stuck in with your help.  Here’s the selection:

1. Draw Paint Print like the Great Artists | 2. My Cut-Out Pictures | 3. Paper Play: Roll it. Rip it. Fold it. Snip it! | 4. Colour Me In!: An activity book | 5. Atlas of Adventures | 6. Illustration School: Let’s Draw (book and sketchpad) | 7. My Monster Bubble Writer Book | 8. Mobile Art | 9. Maps Activity Book | 10. Make Your Mark: The Drawing Book for Children | 11. Animal Kingdom – A Colouring Book Adventure

"Christmas gift ideas for boys clothes"

Yesterday I shared my favourite Christmas clothes for girls from our shop so today it’s the turn of the boys.  Do you gift your boys clothes?  I don’t know if boys get as excited about clothes as girls but if they do, I’ve picked out some fabulous pieces that they will enjoy wearing.  Our boys collection is a bit smaller than the girls one but each piece is hand-picked and slightly unusual.  And we have some very cool pieces that are big on comfort and style like the strapped trousers as well as the geometric dot trousers.  So here are my Christmas gift picks for the boys and don’t forget that there is 20% of everything in the shop till Monday 1st December.  Just use code THANKS02:

1. geometric dot trouser | 2. strapped trouser | 3. fracndell striped tee | 4. fish sweatshirt | 5. khaki jacket | 6. set of two tree socks | 7.  potato boy pyjamas | 8. set of two dot and navy socks | 9. blue stone leggings

With Christmas fast approaching (how did that happen so quickly?!) I’ve been thinking about gifts and outfits for Anya.  And with her birthday a few weeks before Christmas, I always need to think about that celebration too.  This year with the launch of my Korean kids clothing shop, I can’t help but gift her some clothes from there – it’s too tempting and easy when it’s all in front of me!  Besides, I do love all the stuff otherwise I wouldn’t have chosen it.  So as part of this years gift lists, here is a Christmas edit for the girls with a special discount for you – see details at end of post.  These clothes will make beautiful Christmas gifts for any little girl or why not let her choose her favourite? When shopping for Anya, I often shortlist my favourtie pieces and then let her choose from those – it means there’s no risk of her picking something crazy and over the top but she also gets to be involved.

"Christmas party dresses for girls kids"

First is my dress edit.  Whether you’re looking for something unusual, classic or quirky we have something for you.  A small selection but one carefully picked.  The Levine dress is probably the most Christmasy of them all being red.  The peter pan collar and the defined waist make this a classic piece with vintage touches that really stand out.  Next is the quirky Helena dress – a see through lace over-dress which is girly but very cool.  It can be worn over leggings or jeans with a plain top or something more elaborate for an even quirkier look.  It’s different and not your conventional Christmas dress but we love a little whimsy around here.  Last is possibly my favourite – the Erba dress.  It’s pictured with a top under but to be honest, I love it worn on it’s own.  A very unusual dress with an unexpected herringbone trim that looks stunning on.  This one will probably be my choice of dress for Anya this Christmas.

If you prefer mixing and matching, we have some gorgeous separates too.  For the separates we had to pick the Magritte top.  In soft cotton and modal, this top is as comfy as a t-shirt but still so elegant.  With balloon sleeves and the tie detail at the back, this top is an adorable party piece.  It can be paired with anything but we especially love it with our floral Benslily skirt.  Like the Magritte top, the Benslily skirt is a timeless and elegant piece.  Both are understated but still so pretty.  Last but not least is our stunning Mellow tutu skirt.  The longer length and the dusky pink colour really give this skirt the wow factor.  Anya has one and the compliments she receives when she wears it are endless!

Those are my top picks for girls clothing gifts this festive season.  All the clothes are stylish but have been designed with kids in mind so there is no compromise on comfort.  So when the kids get up to lots of mischief this Christmas you can be sure that their clothes won’t restrict them (or maybe you want clothes that do!).

Enjoy 20% off all these gorgeous clothes and everything else in the shop with code: THANKS02. Valid from today till the end of Monday 1st December. Enjoy!
