Goodbye 2013, hello 2014…

January 6, 2014

"2013 ebabee year in review"

Here we are, already 6 days in to 2014.  I hope you’ve all had a fun and restful break.  I’ve really enjoyed spending time with my family, eating, catching up with friends and having a few lazy days too.  When the clock strikes midnight on January 1st each year, even though nothing really changes, it feels like a fresh start.  A chance to go after what you want, to make the changes that you’ve been meaning to, to dream, to plan but it’s also a moment where I always look back at the year that was.  While I’m not a fan of  resolutions, I like looking back at the good and bad and thinking about what I can improve in each new year.

This year more than ever, I feel the need to make some changes to this blog starting with a new look which I am working on and hope to reveal in the next few weeks.  I also hope to evolve and grow the content so that I don’t just write about products.  While I love sharing a new discovery or a new collection and will continue doing this, I want to mix it up with my own recipes, places to eat, DIY’s, a bit more about my personal life, our personal style and other lifestyle things but all still mostly kid and family related.  In other words, more original content and ideas.  I don’t have any big plans all neatly written down but more a list of ideas and thoughts that my instinct is telling me to follow and I hope to develop and evolve these slowly over the course of the year.  I wasn’t sure if I should share my blog plans but I realised there’s nothing more likely to make you do something than if you tell people about it.

So here’s saying goodbye to 2013 and looking forward to 2014 and wishing you a fabulous year ahead too.  Before I finally close the door on 2013, I wanted to share my personal standout moments of the year that was:

Jan – we discovered the beautiful country that is Uruguay and feel in love with it,  Feb – we had plenty of fun days out enjoying all that London has to offer,  Mar – was spent in India as my father had taken a turn for the worse,  Apr – we received a very special delivery from Argentina from a designer I greatly admire,  May – we had very old and very dear friends visit from down under,  Jun – my best friend from Mumbai came to see me and we had some fun, girly times,  Jul – my saddest moment as my father passed away, something I’m still coming to terms with,  Aug – I had my first blog shoot which was super fun,  Sept – was a special month as it was Anya’s first time at big school,  Oct – was all about Halloween and dressing up,  Nov – we celebrated Diwali with fireworks, fun, food and friends,  Dec – I can’t believe my baby turned 5!
