We’re going on a Moon Safari

Are you a little wild at heart? Do you like something a bit out of the ordinary? Then this ‘Moonsafari’ collection is for you. You’ll find camouflage prints, warrior stripes, wing like ruffles and bubble skirts in colours that reflect the wilder side of nature. Kids on the Moons latest Spring Summer 2014 collection is so striking. I love how they’ve got a real sense of wildness and adventure in the collection but it doesn’t take over the clothes.

Dressing up and pretending is one of the great joys of childhood. In our home this is an everyday thing and I am all for it. This collection re-inforces that spirit of adventure and fantasy that all kids have. Some of my favourites include those cool grey bubble shorts and that vest with the camouflage ruffles that is girly with a hint of edginess.

This new Spring Summer collection by Kids on the Moon is special – it’s different without being over the top. And most importantly it’s very comfy for kids to wear and children can be children in these clothes. What’s not to love?

What to wear to an informal pre-wedding dinner

We’ve got a family wedding to go to soon in Kathmandu, Nepal and we’re super excited. I love weddings and it’s been a while since I’ve been to one. We’re all booked and the only thing left to decide is what we’re all going to wear. Indian/Nepalese weddings tend to go on for a week with function after function so it’s not just one outfit you need, but several. Luckily this wedding is a bit shorter with only three events, two of which are formal so both Anya and I plan to go in Indian national dress for the formal celebrations – I’ll wear a sari, she’ll wear a kids lehenga. We’ve already got the Indian outfits so all that’s left to plan is the look for the very informal pre-wedding dinner bearing in mind that it’s going to be hot too.

Probably the easiest thing would be to find myself a dress but I’m not much of a dress person. I prefer trousers or skirts. With that in mind, I’ve been thinking about looks for Anya and me. These are the 3 favourite looks I’ve narrowed it down to for the informal pre-wedding dinner party. Which look do you like best?

Confetti is one of those things that makes you feel cheerful the second you see it. Whether it’s on the walls, on clothes or on the table, confetti just seems to have that ‘happy’ effect. I wanted to start the week by sharing this effortlessly simple and stylish collection of linen dresses. Linen is such a beautiful fabric both in look and feel and so perfect for Summer. Called ‘Nostalgia’ , this new Spring Summer 2014 collection by Soft Gallery is cool and unique. I see a lot of kids clothing lines and after a while many of them start to look a bit samey. But Soft Gallery is different and stands out from the crowd. Their illustrations are created by artists especially for their clothes and their styles are comfy and cool. In addition to the illustrations, there are some striking prints in the collection too. I’m loving that relaxed ice-cream dress as well as that quirky roller skating bear body.

We’ve had the most glorious weekend here in London. For early March, we’ve had unexpected warmth and sunshine which has definitely lifted my spirits, especially after all the rain we’ve had this year. Another drop of sunshine that made it’s way to my inbox this weekend was this adorable new Summer 2014 collection by Little Creative Factory. The pictures instantly put a smile on my face, how could they not?

Little Creative Factory make the cutest swimwear and Summer clothing for boys and girls which is at once childlike yet sophisticated. Their little baby bikinis are some of the sweetest I’ve seen and their swimsuits for older girls are no less stylish. I’m especially loving that cream one shoulder swimsuit and the cute cream (post swim) hoodie. All the clothes are made not just with style in mind but also comfort and movement which is so important for little ones. There are also summer dresses, cool shirts, hoodies and more in their collection and there’s even a small line for adults… yay!

Stripy socks for your buggy!

How cute are these buggy socks? And the name too. Cheerful little stripy socks to protect your (umbrella) buggy handles that can fray and tear over time. But even if they don’t, I still love these socks for their cute factor. And besides protecting, they will also make your buggy standout from the crowd. Very handy in the playground. They come in many different coloured stripes and a range of sizes to fit a variety of buggy handles and there’s also a sweet pompom version of these handle protectors. I’m past the buggy stage but if I ever went back there, I’d have to choose the bright turquoise and grey striped ones. Which colour would you choose?

Spring Summer 2014 from Made by Muku is here and it’s just beautiful. Cosy linen clothes in simple shapes and muted tones that are so comfy and practical for kids too. My favourite is that cross-backed play suit but really, I love all the pieces. It’s impossible not to.
