How gorgeous are these shades for Summer? When I saw those women’s dresses I totally fell for the colours. Fresh, soft and flirty, perfect for those glorious sunny days ahead (I hope!). And the kids clothes are no less beautiful, especially those lemon yellow dungarees. Seeing colours like these in the shops makes me happy and hopeful for a long, hot Summer.
I’ve found that as Anya has started taking an interest in what she wears, she almost always tends to go for the craziest, most mis-matched combos which can even include her dotty pyjama bottoms combined with a floral skirt and a very ethnic Indian style top! While I let her have freedom at home, I prefer to be in charge when we are going out. That doesn’t always end happily but since I’ve noticed she is more drawn to bolder patterned clothes (like most kids), I now pick out clothes like these and have fun mixing and matching the various prints and patterns with her. Mixing prints & patterns not only looks good but it’s also a way to give a new look to an old outfit. So I thought I would share 3 of my favourite ways to mix prints and patterns:
You may have come across this new Bobo Choses Summer collection but if you haven’t, it’s unmissable. I’m especially loving all the bold cross, dot and lip prints. I mean how cute is that dotty baby jumpsuit and the crosses bloomer? Just adorable. In the UK you can find a selection at the stylish Orfeo Designboutique.
Babies wearing little rompers look the cutest. I’m a big fan of these all in ones for babies, especially the knitted kind. Here are 5 that I’m loving right now for baby boy or girl:
Everybody needs a bit of pink in their lives especially for Summer. From pale pink to bright pink, there is a shade of pink out there for everyone. Here are a few pink things I’m currently loving for mamas and babies:
Adorable linen dolls, beautiful bed linen and stylish stationery is what it’s all about at Naked Lunge. It’s all very understated and simple which is what I’m loving. Naked Lunge is the creation of designer Roxanna who is also running a workshop in London this Summer where you can learn to make your own dolls. Speaking of those dolls, aren’t they great? I’m loving the simple drawing style which runs through the entire range of stuff as well as the colours Roxanna has used.
Naked Lunge has recently teamed up with Brave Ones Apparel to create the most adorable range of clothes – how cute are these trousers, mittens and tops? I love the bunny print as well as the Indian boy and girl print. Naked Lunge also offers jewellery, stationery and some tea towels all of which are pretty cool. I love Roxanna’s style and think she is very much a designer to watch.
Today I’m excited to introduce you to Walking the Cat, my newest sponsor and a very cool kids wear boutique from Germany. Walking the Cat are a new online shop filled with some of my favourite brands like Bobo Choses, Louise Misha, Soft Gallery, Tocoto Vintage and more. The founder Daria is crazy about kids fashion and it shows from her lovely selections.
Walking the Cat have clothes and accessories for boys, girls and babies. One of their standout brands for me is Little Titans who make cool and colourful tights for boys as well as girls. Who said tights are just for girls?! Walking the Cat are new so they’re still adding labels to their range and one of their latest additions is Buho, a gorgeous brand from Spain. While I have my favourites, all their brands are slightly unusual and very stylish yet very practical and comfy for kids too. Walking the Cat, just like the name suggests, is a fun store with a cool attitude and they deliver worldwide too.
This week I’m especially glad it’s Friday. It’s been a long week with a lot of travel so I’m glad to be home and look forward to sleeping a lot! Before I leave you for the weekend, I wanted to share this happy new collection by Tiny Cottons. The prints are so adorable and the colours so cheerful and percfect for Summer. This collection brought a big smile to my face and I think it will do the same for you.
While browsing La Petite, I recently discovered this sister duo who design homewares, kids stuff and more, all with a minimal touch. I’m loving that graphic bear print that appears on quite a lot of stuff from baby blankets to wallpaper. There’s lots of black and white in their collection which has a very Scandinavian feel to it. The sisters are German but run Lile Sadi from the Netherlands. Lile Sadi doesn’t have a huge collection, but what they do have is a distinct aesthetic which is simple, stylish, minimal and very appealing to anyone who likes a bit of beauty in their everyday objects.
A little while I ago I shared this amazing coat from Pepito by Chus which so many of you told me you loved as much as I did. Today I wanted to share their new Spring Summer collection which is fresh and beautiful. I love how all the pieces are simple and mostly in solid colours but then embellished with a bow, a ruffle or an unusual collar. The cuts are classic and so, so chic. The whole collection is feminine without being fussy. These are the kind of girly clothes that every little girl needs – the kind that look so comfy yet so chic and pretty.
I’m always drawn to the girls stuff because I have a girl but the boys range is no less beautiful. Crisp white collarless shirts and cute shorts again with unexpected details like those pink elbow patches on the white shirt – I love that! There’s actually a range of elbow patches you can choose from but the pink are my favourite.
Pepito by Chus is a fairly new Spanish label started by a mama of three. I am a huge fan already and can’t wait to see what she creates for her next collection.
